Guest TAMMY_1 Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 what is the latest date you have bred a young bird and raced it and how did it do ?
Michael J Burden Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 early July weaned it. Sent it to BICC and NFC yb races. nearly 300 miles each race. my first timer in NFC. Still have her now in stock loft.
ALF Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 i always think if i can ring the yb's by the 1st of june i will get them racing...
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 29th April 2010 chipped out (either that or first week in May) 2nd young bird race end of July 2010 topped fed (well over 2000 birds as well) She'll be going over the channel this year, we kept her inland last year
andy Burgess Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 a former club had a dedicated ring race , the first youngster was hurt very badly with a hawk attack . the ring was used on a bird bred same way from 3rd round . had 1 x 10 mile and 2 x 35 mile chucks .was sent to the race at 9 weeks old , came second and won £90 .happy days.
ALF Posted May 4, 2012 Report Posted May 4, 2012 A FRIEND OF MINE GAVE ME A PAIR OF DOOS THAT HAVE BRED DOOS TO TO WIN A FEW FED TICKETS AS YB'S AND HE WANTS A PAIR OFF THEM FOR THE GOLD RING RACE UP HERE THE EGGS ARE ONLY 10 DAYS OLD BUT THE YB'S WILL BE AT THE RACE NO PROBLEM
Wiley Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 If you go back two three weeks RP it mentions my young bird topping the fed that hatched in June, falling to pieces and beat all the darkness pigeons. Andy Burgess has or had one the same way bred from me.
Guest paulrstokes Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 mate of mine had a young bird that hatched on the 2nd june, sent it to the first race and took incredible stick as it was still squeaking so kept it home the next week, won week 3 and 4. then put away for the next year
Roland Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 early July weaned it. Sent it to BICC and NFC yb races. nearly 300 miles each race. my first timer in NFC. Still have her now in stock loft. Was eggs in July, flew Thurso in Late September 470 miles.
