Blue Chequer Pied Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 It needs some positive PR and a huge attitude change from Joe public. I think a reduction in ferel town pigeons would have a real positive effect. Paul.

retired Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Cheaper corn, less fighting amongst ourselves, good PR

vanreets Posted October 18, 2009 Author Report Posted October 18, 2009 Cheaper corn, less fighting amongst ourselves, good PR ;)very true cheaper stuff all round i say
alex wight Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 We all need to pull in the same direction with the goal making the sport stronger in hard times. We also need to respect other peoples views, and not berate anyone as is all too often at times. ps this is my opinion only
Taylorsloft Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 Members lofts checked for sick birds to many members trying to cure sick birds when they should be in the pail
hepste Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 A greater input (time and effort) from individual members, in connection with the running of a club, combined with fresh ideas.
Guest youngzimmy Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 i disagree with the coment of less ferel pigeons they haxe as much right to be here as racers in fact probably have a higher natural imunity to problems than the racers do without all your fancy expencive drugs dont see them queing up for jags
pjc Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 i disagree with the coment of less ferel pigeons they haxe as much right to be here as racers in fact probably have a higher natural imunity to problems than the racers do without all your fancy expencive drugs dont see them queing up for jags Your right about the imunity but wrong about not wanting ferels removed! They do have high imunity because they have adapted to there surroundings but do still suffer from common ailments as do our racers. The biggest problem is they are what the public see and perceive as being racing pigeons which is why our prized racers are also seen as flying rats! If fanciers were allowed to carry out pest control around town centres our birds would have a much better reputation!
Blue Chequer Pied Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 i disagree with the coment of less ferel pigeons they haxe as much right to be here as racers in fact probably have a higher natural imunity to problems than the racers do without all your fancy expencive drugs dont see them queing up for jags We could say the same about sparrowhawks, peregrines etc but I am sure everyone on here would like to see their numbers controlled despite them 'having as much right to be here' as our birds. Ferals need controlled the damage and mess they produce is very damaging to our cause. The facts are that joe public in general hate them because they mess up the streets and buildings and look terrible. They think that racing pigeons and ferals are one and the same thing. They need controlled. Paul.
Roland Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Simply some fairness where applicable and able. Yes this sport will never have a level plying field obviously, and I quite understand, appreciate that! But simply some fairness where applicable and able would go a long way.
Roland Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Further a little more tolerance of the have nots and less unscrupplpus exploiting of them. Plus where the 'Haves' can, to lighten up and act with a social conscoiusness. To give commonsence a chance to prevail wouldn't go amiss either, not by a long chalk.

THE FIFER Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 I think the young and happy kids is in the right place, but before you can get that you would need the people being friendly one, wont get the first without the later,
