use duracell shoild be about 1.50/2 quid replace every year and take out at the end of the season as i have seen them left in and corroding the battery compartment.

clean out battery compartment with a small piece of emery paper or a nail file thingy and some wd40 or vasiline that should do the trick but be gentle the terminal wires can be very fragile.

whits the battery number?

 

 

Its a C cell and always use an Alkaline cos that will cut the risk of leakage. Always remove at end of season and change
