Guest IB Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 No damage myself, but next door has some roof tiles off. Daughter's friend tells me there are 17 trees down on the Bo'ness - Grangemouth Road. In Bo'ness, a woman driver had a narrow escape, she'd just parked her car and gone into a shop when part of the roof collapsed on it, burying it. Sorry to hear about the chimney collapse. Main thing is folks are OK. Sad reminder of a similar storm on west coast in late 1960's when those sandstone chimney breasts collapsed sometimes taking out 3 or 4 floors of Glasgow tenement blocks with them.

alex wight Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 I was back to work today, and it was a case of "dodge the debris" style o driving.Trees down, chimneys down, rubbish everywhere, fences down, shop signs down, lead flashings off houses, trampolines flying like saucers so no different here in Lochgelly Got home from work to find neighbours tree lying over ma loft. I went out to trim it down so it didnt damage the new roof i,ve just put on. The neighbours saw me, instead of coming out to deal with THEIR FUUCKING TREE, they pulled the blinds closed. twwats. They will now wake up tomoro to one chopped up tree in their garden.
