so they lost over 2000 birds after all that training then mate?

Hi mate

yes they lost 2000 plus birds from intake to the final race, which in percentage terms is not too bad IMO.

If I bred 40 youngsters, and raced them through the program and I got over 20 to the last race of the season I would be pleased.

Please do not get me wrong i am not having a pop at the Teneriffe race, I just feel for them as they seem to constantly have bad luck.

hope you do well in the remaining races

no prob mate, was having a look at there website yesterday, was just a bit unsure of the numbers... how many made it home form the final, entry was 3497 wasnt it... ???

have to admit tho, nobody can look at the DerbyArona website imo, it leaves the rest standing i'm afraid, but ye i wish we had a bit better racing...

Are they going ahead with the 3rd. trainer after those two disasters

dont think they have much of an option, must remain fair to all competing...

Now the annoying part of this race series is the fact that once these youngsters have completed there first island training flight the remaining races are a huge success... :D

In 2011 the first island race was HOTSPOT RACE 1... from Gran Canaria, and unfortunately another stinker with only 12% returns!! :(

The remaining races had the following returns...

HOTSPOT 2.... 82%

HOTSPOT 3.... 94%

HOTSPOT 4.... 28%

FINAL.... 58%

canna really argue with that i'm afraid! its just getting those YB's to cross that water first time round... :emoticon-0179-headbang:

lets hope this helps wuldon,i am scratching ma heid with this one as i thought the ethos of a one loft race to be fair to all competing fanciers "all for one and one for all"mentality :( :( only my opinion. :)
