yeboah Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 I dont think they have boobed, the race is for everybody in Scotland, not just the east coast. The wee national have 433 birds away, 300+ of them will be from fanciers in the east and Peterborough lies more to the east as well.Wait and see how the guys in Glasgow get on from this race. The question on everybodys lips last night was , will they get up? well, the answer is NO, not today anyway and thats the end of the story. You are 100% correct derek ,the weather here at present seems as if the hurricane has came early it has rained all morning and i mean all morning at present the rain is coming straight down can only be described as a monsoon ,thats why i am adding this post at present because i am unable to go to the loft which is only 3 yds away because of this weather it is unreal ,anyone shouting of birds being liberated please take a reality check ,question that i would ask is why were they sent in first place as many other organisations have cancelled and they were not racing into scotland where the worst weather has been predicted for a few days now ,should be brought home now as no chance of a race for next few days or they will be in sweden with the wind strenght.

Exactly my point, the birds have to fly into ALL parts of Scotland, not just the east side. The thing that puzzles me is, Jim Hannah is a Lanarkshire fed member and he doesnt get much support from his fellow members on this site.?? I know he has made mistakes in the past but which race controller hasnt?? Im not defending Jim Hannah, im only stating a fact. The decision has been made by the 3 race controllers, lets see how it pans out before we get the knives oot.

You've just told us whats going on.... disillusioned by the decision..... the forecast for Mon and Tuesday is horrendous - should they put them up whatever the weather and let them try and work in thru the tail end of a hurricane on mon?? First time in the history of the SNFC? So, what you mean is every other time they have been let go just because they dont want to be the first to bring them back?? Apart from that I see the sense in your post..... long and short of it is that the forecast was always leaning towards there being a slight chance of a race on Saturday and virtually none after. I dont know what you expected.

I dont know what you expected.the bottom line is the snrpc libbed 433 pigeons 14 mile further than us at 9 45 and have had a good race we could have went at 11 or 12 and would also have had a good race imo they were too quick too holdover imo
peacock Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 I think Rab Hamilton of Cambus will win Section D and do well in result

elanco Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 yip, well done snrpc. as far as i hear returns are very good, and as far as only 27 birds on the web-site henrik, its only to show early arrivals.sorry to say the snfc got it wrong , but that happens.
blucock Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 So, because the SNRPC went at Peterborough means the SNFC would get a great race from Leicester?? Tosh. Two feds went from Otterburn last week and Ayrshire went from Morpeth... Ayrshire got slaughtered.... I applaud the SNFC decision to holdover - the ONLY sensible option in the conditions at Leicester and on route!! The very idea of "taking a chance" with the whole countries "national doos" is abhorrent. Baz
