Walter swanston Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Yeboah would know better than me but I think there are three pairs around Moffat
Blue Chequer Pied Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 There were 3 at my birds in Forres last week Davie, I know there are at least 5 in and around Grange near Keith. I had my yb's attacked at Mosstodloch which is about 16 miles from here and also near Rothes which would be about the same distance but more southerly. I was fishing with my son 2 days ago on Lochindorb on the Dava moor 10 miles due south of me and I could see and hear them there. They are everywhere.

WulDon Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 from our first young bird race, stood and watched one take a dive at race birds three times as they crossed over... the youngsters scattered in every direction including dive bombing which i'm sure must incurr severe injuries, then easy prey! but what can we do...
yeboah Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Yeboah would know better than me but I think there are three pairs around MoffatGarry who rings them Walter told me there were 14 pair in the hills around Moffat ,but that was 10 years ago ,I no of 11 pair on our line of flight but it is near on impossible keeping tabs on them as they are being introduced to top up the nest site's each year ,i think in the next few years they will revert to eating each other as there will be nothing else left ,other than the sad f-- who introduce them .

yeboah Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 IVE BEEN TELT THERES OWER 800 PAIRS UP HERE NOW AND THE RSPCB WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL FANCIERS FOR THERE DRAMATIC SUCCESS AND RECOVERY Some of the sites i have visited there are remains of various birds on there plucking point including crow lapwing seagull but must agree a good piece of prime racing pigeon certainly tops the list .funny thing how you are very lucky to find many rings they somehow manage to find a way to disappear .
