sapper756 Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 How many, if any, birds are you missing from yesterdays racing? I sent 16 birds and got 15 home from Morpeth, the bird that is missing is a 2010 late bred cock, flying spare. H e was at the Kelso race last week, hopefully he may show up today. What about you?http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0126-nerd.gif

Tony C Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Two short yesterday, have had one back this morning
yeboah Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Yesterdays east wind in this area was as strong as i can remember i sent twenty ten cocks ten hens the first ten all holding there racing line and home in minutes from the first arriving then nothing for hours where i fly 30 miles north of Gretna and because of the vast geographical layout of our fed if the birds do not break from the batch on a day with strong east winds as they hit the Gretna area i guess they continue along the solway cost at high altitude with the convoy of the south west that we also transport, they race direct west into stranraer the ferry port which does sailings to Ireland if the birds do not break which many yearlings don't they then find themselves 130 miles from home having to home into a gale as i say first ones spot on time then zero for hours now down to four missing one of which is five and has many positions to his credit cant not send as east is predicted for most of the week and our mileage is now increasing so have to take there chance but is very annoying loosing fit and healthy yearlings

ovy1255 Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 stiff race yesterday for the birds flying from south to north, and mine were no exceptions. even though the majority made it home in good time i had 2 adrift when i went to the club for read off and still 2 missing at tea time.244miles into the n/east of england in an east north east ,so at 5 i let the young birds out and at 5.30 my pied hen joined the young birds flying but wouldnt come in .when she did land she looked done in ,today sunday the last one came and looked like it had flown round the world-so full team with some T,L,C needed. after a few phone calls i found out that there are some good birds still missing ,so if you guys in the south get any NEHU birds in us guys up here will appreciate a bit TLC from you.thanks TERRY.
