sapper756 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Apart from breeding youngsters for your own team, do you breed youngsters to gift to fellow fanciers, and other club/feds young bird sales? I personally donate a youngster to my own club sale and the other local clubs sales, I also gift youngsters every year to other fanciers, and swap some also. Where possible, I donate also to worthy causes, I must also add, that I have received gift youngsters from fellow fanciers and PB members. This, I believe is good for the sport What about you????
lvlasked Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 next year ill gift some ybs as only started this year i have gave 2 away this year to harry H hes a top block and have real good talks with with him over the phone and a gent in the sport
dal2 Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Always give to club and any worthy cause that I am asked! But only if I have young in nest that suit time of sale so not to interfere wae racin. Gave 100s away mostly to family and club members and swaps.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 26 and counting so far. 20 of those for charity sales. And no doubt there will be more to go. I think that the ability to help charities through selling pigeons is a great thing as well as helping out new starts and fanciers that are maybe having some bad luck for whatever reason. Paul.

Guest Dorset-lad Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Ive not got any birds yet but had an offer from a member on PB whos gifting me some youngbirds mid summer so im in the process of building a 12ftx8ft loft. I will use these birds next season to build a team of youngbirds. looking forward to going up north to thank this person personaly and pick the birds up. I wont say who he is just incase he doesnt want anyone to know but if he wishes to add to this hes welcome Brian
JohnQuinn Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Breeding 12 for a guy who is just starting up and i have gifted 7 to various sales. As much as i like donating birds to sales i don't want to be breeding too many from my team, my theory being you can only breed so many GOOD birds a year and might very well be parting with the best youngsters bred in the loft that season, if you give too many away, but overall i contribute when/where possible.
DJWa Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 I hope it,s no Cemhes concentrating on old birds this year

yeboah Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 Could not even hazard a guess as to how many birds i have gifted over the last near on forty years ,will give to a sale if asked but tend to gift birds to friends on a yearly basis and like to give new starters what i think is the best ,gives me great pleasure hearing of fellow fanciers having success with these birds ,have met countless friends through gifting pigeons as my old school mistress said Do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you
Guest stb- Posted March 29, 2011 Report Posted March 29, 2011 no i keep them all for myself GREEDY BLAZZA
