Was recomended this years ago from an old guy to keep on top of worms and cocci. Its potassium permanganate, think people use it for skin conditions and as a general disinfectant.

Didn't really think it had a particularly positive affect on the doos but maybe we were using it wrong. One thing I can say is that if you put a sprinkle in the doos bath every now and again you'll have no such thing as a louse or a mite in yer hut

Nah I don't put anything at all in the bath these days. They've got it in front of them nearly all the time at the moment. They seem to like a daily bath when they are feeding babies.

Thing is there is already bleach in the drinking water - chlorine - and in some places ammonia too - chloramine. As far as I know chloramine doesn't dissipate over time like chlorine does. Milton is a form of chlorine.

Remember well the yellow stuff in the drinkers in 60's - Condy's crystals. I think it is an antimicrobial too.

There is also a disnifectant on the market specifically designed for water sanitation - Vanodine V18, it's iodine-based, and contains acids too, hydrochloric is one (like in your stomach) cant recall the other. We disinfect our club baskets with it.

Condis Crystals=Potassium Permanganate. Turns the water Purple not yellow. Iodine turns it yellow.
