Guest IB Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 I've just come onto this thread and question 'the Marlborough' that was described at the meeting, and 'the marlborough' folks describe on this thread. At the meeting we were told it is an UNC racepoint, NE of London, east of Newbury. Years ago, I'd the same bother finding 'Newbury' - I'd thought it was in the west country - yes, there is one there, but it's not our Newbury racepoint, that is just outside London. Any UNC fliers confirm the location for us?

Any UNC fliers confirm the location for us?At the meeting the race point referred as used by the unc was rivenhall that lost out on the vote against Marlborough 44 against 39 ,sure you will find Marlborough is in wiltshire se of swindon and very near to our newbury racepoint we used to fly it would then have been direct on line for portsmouth which was defeated in favour of eastbourne by 49 votes to 42 ,hope this helps
andy Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Marlborough services is East North East of London. Would help if one of the National commitee members can clarify which is the correct racepoint, or is it the case that racepoints are being passed without any homework being done by the officials. I didn't see Marlborough or Messac on the Agenda sheet. Just taking names of places off the floor because someone likes the sound of it isn't on. Are these racepoints and services suitable? I'd bet most of the officials hadn't even heard of it...

It beggars belief Michael why we're chopping and changing for a couple of miles east or west, or is it panic, next we could be on free-fall!!

We,ll jst have to see how the race pans out now cos in the end the wind and weather will decide what kind of race we have and you can bet your boots everyone wont be happy.
Fair Play Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Checked RPRA liberation Sites birds released on the common, no toilets or water
andy Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Checked RPRA liberation Sites birds released on the common, no toilets or water If this is correct read my previous post, Enough Said!
Henrik Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 If this is correct read my previous post, Enough Said! This is contradictory to what was stated at the meeting.
Henrik Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 The alternative site proposed by the committee which was Rivenhall is not even listed on the RPRA list. Maybe a good idea for next year if anyone has any thoughts would be to come along to the meeting and air your views, cos its too late to do anything now.
knoxjn Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 where does it say there are no facilities ??

The proper idea is all resolutions for change should be in writing and put on the agenda, as is done at Federation level. If there are unforseen circumstances at the time of the race then the comittee have the power to change the racepoint.. End Of....
