Only ever seen one other Dog hit the lids like that. It was Top Honcho, the best Greyhound i've ever seen. Had a dog myself that run at Wishaw mainly, called him Pegasus and won 39 races from 83 entered, he was always in the Red Jacket (handicap races) and gave away as many as 14 lengths from the boxes, but was still up amongst them at the first bend, but his middle pace was outstanding. Had a lot of fun with him and won a few quid in the process

Would these pigeons take on the Best we have in Scotland i dont think so.For that kind of money the 2% Rule should go up but believe me it goes down to 1% as fanciers think more of what they paid for them and in some 3 years will be trying to off-load the 99% Shi-e

you no your dogs john the lad was good dog passed way in 2007 but sired some of the best dogs to ever grace track in ireland and england one of them loyal honcho for symus grapham won english derby and if it wasnt for savas westmead hawk doing two year on bounce comeing back off last bend is the style of running by westmead hawk loyal honcho would of won two english derbys for symus and the lad wasnt far away for symus in irish and scottish derby for him top honcho was bred in australia by a lady call alison cant remember here last name now and was brough over to ireland micheal dunne had the lad at frightful flash kennles in ireland all best. p.s top honcho is tyrur mc guigan great grandad so got his blood in him all best loyal honcho winning serby 2008 for symus i was there as symus now a family member off mine cheered the lad on all good dogs but no one disserved it more that night but symus being unlooky in every other derby he ran in looseing out by getting pipped son off top honcho when put over *expletive removed* midway crystal

With luck this weekend killed a pigeon auction record for revenue. The complete collection of the county topmelker Jos Thone (50) makes up a great opportunity to bring in 1.25 million euros. But for that money to international bidders than the absolute world of pigeon racing.

The Flemish pigeon thrive. Three weeks ago sold the online auctioneer Pigeon Paradise (Pipa) in Knesselare already the most expensive pigeon of the world. The German-Belgian male Euro Diamond exchange of ownership for the great amount of 170,000 euros.

And today blows in the Dutch village of Thorn, just over the Belgian border, the cream of the international pigeon world gather because the entire collection of Jos Thone from As, an absolute leader in the industry, goes under the hammer.

Exceptional talent

According to Nicholas Gyselbrecht, the owner of the auction house, is Thone and Belgian ambassador of the pigeon. "He showed very early his exceptional talent. Not only are birds top performance, but also for other landlords to advise. In the world you will find descendants of his pigeons and pigeon fanciers who according to his motivations. It is therefore not surprising that there has never been this much response was for an auction. "

These are clients from the United States, Taiwan, China, Japan, Australia and twenty other countries. One of the largest Chinese newspaper even sent a reporter flying.

The expected proceeds from the auction of the 134 birds is correspondingly expensive. An example: a bid of Sedna, one of the highlights, starting at 52,000 euros. "Whether the record for most expensive pigeon will be broken, is uncertain. But may have killed the revenue record for the whole collection. Which currently stands at 1.25 million euros, says Gyselbrecht.

Jos Thone sells his life's work because he suffers from a persistent eye disease. "I love mixed emotions about the auction," he says. "I have thirty years for my birds lived and won everything. Moreover, I have the last two years lost too many pigeons. A champion die in your hands after an attack by a bird of prey: that is far more painful than my top now go to see a buyer who will take good care. "

But blood is thicker than water. "I'll train a few youngsters and does not exclude me from the proceeds of the auction maybe even buy a new top pigeon," he laughs.

To the auction in the right direction, put Pipa twenty-five employees, of whom ten telephone operators and even pigeon two guards, professional security guards the prize have to watch birds. The auction is live via the Internet.

I noticed Jos Thone had went to Davy Hunt of London to mate his best stock birds to Davys and split the ybs. Davy Hunt is a top London loft and he is selling up at present. Im sure they wont average nearly ten grand as Thones have and there are 14 bred from Thone x Hunts very best stock. If I were into Jos Thone pigeons, I KNOW WHERE I WOULD GO.
