very very interesting walter ,but not from oslo far too much water any that dont make land by nightfall will never be seen again, why not from north east holland /germany/ denmark ? and open too all scotland england wales and ireland ?

yes walter but have u ever noticed that a lot of very good pigeons and this includes national winners make a hash of it sometimes oh and the fanciers too ,so like my good hen karens girl first time accross the water took 8 days ,she would probably have drowned if that race was from oslo ,and i bet theres a lot more champions out there that have done the same first time accross.so imo i would defo say naw thanx for oslo.

Yes 300+ miles of water is a little too much especially if conditions are not 100%, love to give a go though.

so what you are saying is any doo in the north fed that cant fly hastings on the day is rubbish. i`ll remember that next time you get a north wind. oslo to scotland in a south west wind would be as hard as you could get. if any were lucky enough to land on a boat heading for peterhead they would be laughing

i am not saying nothing about any bird being rubbish what i am saying that a NATIONAL RACE should be that and a hard long distance event and all birds would have to be in condition before you send them going by your post your not prepaired to compete on a fair playing field so my advice to you race your birds in lesser compition but if fanciers would like to pick up the top prize in long distance racing SCOTLAND OR ENGLAND let the bird be a real champion and speaking about a bird going on a boat to peterhead from oslo it wont be a fishing boat i dont think it would be supply boat at week end eather and sw wind would be perfect

emil mccartons gold cup winner was clocked flying just over 13 hours north section winner not clocked till third day if it were with his winner it then travelled at 8mph from then on to get home blodder versus racer rest my case goodnight
