I'm surprised that the bigger suppliers of pigeon mixtures don't have contract growers. This guarantees both your supply and your price. Surely they aren't buying their needs on the open market. This leaves them totally vulnerable to both supply and cost difficulties.

Farm where i go say most yeilds this year were down , but the size of his maples and peas are exactly what i like ;)

I am using Frazers Best all Round at the minute £6.50 for 25kg. Bit dusty but when birds are doing nothing it is OK. I put oils on every day and it looks real good.

Corn is going to go through the roof thats for sure, Gem & Versa Laga is currently £14 per bag - scandalous!

the poor russian harvest has pushed up wheat prices about 50%. wheat being a global 'commodity' has an impact on all other farm produce...so expect all types of feed to increase. the 'naughty' thing is that prices should have eased last year as the cereal market dropped and also many merchants will have bought on 'contract' at lower prices. whether they pass this saving on is another matter. my guess is that they are, in part, to phase in the increase and lessen the shock. feed beans are trading at £160/ton...£3-20 /20kg bag. tic beans which yield less will be more and retail could treble the price so good tics under £9 are a bargin.

buy in bulk, save a fortune and cut out the middle men!

bamfords do a minimum delivery of 60 bags with some mixes under £8.00, get together with a few club members and split the costs.

they also quite cheap for some of there products, i recently purchased some duramitex plus at £4.67 per can, retails at £9.40 which some stockists are charging... fanciers are being ripped off left, right and centre these days!

I,m arranging a club delivery with Bamfords very soon, just waiting on the price list and a catalogue of everything they do. I have about 8 or 9 members interested, so i,m sure it will be worth it. ;)

we have jist got the new catalogue in, and there is a price increase but still favourable compaired to other feed suppliers, we just ordered about 120 bags and the saving is considerible , some stockists retailing at £13 ish we get it for between £8 & £9, 12 bags is a saving of around £40 its a no brainer lads
