BrianP Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Don't liberate tomorrow, wind is wrong for me. Wrong of coarse it is. Strong winds should not mean that a race is postponed or we leave ourselves open to such critisim. Only bad weather should mean a race being put back or we open a can of worms that will always be open to debate.Whats your views?

Guest bigda Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 looks like a 9am lib Sunday. weather wind wise to ease, temperature to rise up to as much as 21 deg, but the very north closing in, at arrival time wet and windy down as far as Aberdeen late 7pm - 10pm other than that a better day for the one eyeyed jacks, bigda as it is
ALF Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 BIGDA AS IT IS :D HERE'S HOPING WE GET THEM UP EARLY IN THE MORNING DANNY BOY ;)
Guest stb- Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 BIGDA AS IT IS :D HERE'S HOPING WE GET THEM UP EARLY IN THE MORNING DANNY BOY ;)MONDAY
Rebus Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 wind should not be a reason to holdover with the exception of very strong winds on the channel where it will affect the state of the sea with high waves and sea apray which will claim many birds.
Guest bigda Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 BIGDA AS IT IS HERE'S HOPING WE GET THEM UP EARLY IN THE MORNING DANNY BOY NOPE NEW COUNCIL RULES, NO FIRES TO BE LIT TILL AFTER 9 AM, all beer bottles and cans and dog-ends, and shi-t to be cleared from compounds , no barbeque's allowed on Sundays, and any laughter heard from the said compounds will result in permission being granted only to keep white mice by order of the n.l.c.
OLDYELLOW Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Should wait till Monday had no day birds from 414 miles yesterday pigeons welfare should come first
ritchie1 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 wait till monday theres to much nirds geting lost on saterdays race strong winds rain in scotland mondays a better day
WulDon Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 once again i'm sure tye race controllers will make the correct decision for the pigeons and not the necessarily the fanciers, but got a feeling we'll get a lib arond 9am???
ritchie1 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 if they lib at 9 threequarters of the birds wont get back on the day
peterpau Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 I don't care what way the wind blows but if it is in the east then we must be very careful about the temperature. Can't seen any reason to let go in COLD east winds. I'd sooner they get a good start late than a bad start early.
ritchie1 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 keep the birds until monday its to late and far to strong winds
walterbmasson Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 why wait till monday they have made the decision that its to windy ( well whenever the wind dies down give the whole convoy a chance to win the race 1 0 clock lib keep all birds out ) I HAVE NO BIRDS ENTERED SO GIVE ALL BIRDS THE SAME TREATMENT YOUS WONT GET A BETTER CHANCE SHOW YOUR TRUE COLOURS AS SPORTSMEN
bibendium Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 While I would have prefered an early liberation, I see no reason to liberate at say 9 if the majority of Scotland have the opportunity of getting there birds home on the day, as in the past the birds have been off when we in the west havent had a fair crack at the whip.
ritchie1 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 we wont get our birds on the day if they lib at 9 man lib at 1 and we all have a two day race
walterbmasson Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 we wont get our birds on the day if they lib at 9 man lib at 1 and we all have a two day race WHY KEEP THEM ANOTHER DAY IN BASKETS doesent do the birds any good coming to the 600mile races 1 0 clock rock and keep the birds as fresh for the long distance races after all what do you call it A NATIONAL please give us your views on this so we know how you all feel
bibendium Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 WHY KEEP THEM ANOTHER DAY IN BASKETS doesent do the birds any good coming to the 600mile races 1 0 clock rock and keep the birds as fresh for the long distance races after all what do you call it A NATIONAL please give us your views on this so we know how you all feel If as you suggest m8 they go at 1. still does not guarantee no day birds, as if the wind dies down as it is supposed to there is a fair chance of birds in the south and borders late on tonight, so that would be a no go for me. jmo
blaz Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 lib at 10 today for me the wind is calming down throught the day.
