Henrik Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 I would have thought Bart that if Midlothian convoyer had told Bobby Carruthers who is ultra cautious that it was at all dodgy or that birds were still hanging about then Midlothian would,nt have Lib. I dont know the answer but still think it may be atmospheric.
REDCHEQHEN Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Can I stick my nose in please - some of your birds have been reported in Whitby and Scarborough - both of these have North Road Clubs as well as South Road, North Road were at Whitley Bay on Saturday, they did not have good returns, I know some Scarborough birds have been reported in Scotland, however I do not know the time of liberation of the North Road birds.

I dont know the answer but still think it may be atmospheric. i know bobby carruthers a very nice man who gave me birds when i started out henrik we dont know if the birds cleared or not but would the midlothian convoyer be looking for lanarkshire birds 2hrs after liberation that might be flying a mile or two from the lib site
fifestay Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Do they speak and were they in communication with EACH OTHER ...have both those Feds got a written report re Lib ...maybe ask at Fed meeting
Henrik Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Might get a bit more info after tonight as Midlothian I believe are having a meeting to discuss whether they can continue with their y/b programme.
jimmy white Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 AND REMEMBER BOBBYCARUTHERS IS VERY VERY CAREFULL WHEN IT COMES TO LIBERATING PIGEONS, MID LOTHIAN WERE OFF AT 11 OR 1130 AND AS STEVE APPLEBIES REPORT SAYS SUN SHINING AFTER 9 30 AT SCOTCH CORNER , AND STILL COPED IT ,,,,AS WITH ALL THE FEDS THAT DAY AROUND THAT AREA, APPROX 6 FEDS 6 DIFFERANT CONVOYERS, SOMETHING TELLS ME THEY WERE NOT" ALL" WRONG,, I STILL GO BY MY PREVIOUS POSTSON THIS , SOMETHING IN THE AIR ,,,,ATMOSPHERICS I WAS A TV AERIAL RIGGER,FOR YEARS, SOME DAYS WERE GOOD FOR RECEPTION OTHERS WERE BAD, BAD DAYS WERE DUE TO ATMOSPHERICS, AND THE" TV" NOT GETTING THE PROPER" SIGNAL",DUE TO THIS, ,,JUST A THOUGHT??
thedooman Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 we had a bad race on saturday aswell in the central fed hope you get your birds back yors in sport Greig
thedooman Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 i dropped 1 out of 29 from otterburn on saturday and i also won the club place wish you luck with returns in the future
johno Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 the weather on saturday was bad throughout durham. the durham amal held their liberation to around miday. so did unc. i think they use steve appleby.whesther we think that 6 feds letting go means they cannot all be wrong, the returns tell us different. it will be interesting to see the outcome of the emergency meetings tonight.i hope some of the birds turn up. but i fear the worst. the stray centre may have some returns. personally i fear the birds coming back through the stray centre as the mixing of run down birds does no good.
pender Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 bobby c, beleives it is radar that is one of the reasons he does not like newbury with the nat, and what i noticed wen traveling to my sisters in northallerton wen you get just by penrith on the east side there is tank ranges and other army depots with radar masts and those big circle radar things as well. going down that side of the country. food for thought.
