Used for the young birds this year but they lost between 3 - 7 mins each week >:( so it was no use to us this year other than the info it supplies you with.

Looking forward to using it with the widowhood cocks next year. :) :)

Funny how ETS somehow becomes acceptable to some once they get a lottery grant to buy it.

WHEN OUR CLUB GOT THE LOTTERY GRANT HENRIK THEY STILL DID NOT WANT ETS SO WE GOT T3'S AND THEY WERE DELIGHTED WITH THEM ALLTHOUGH IF ANYBODY WANTED TO BUY ETS THERE WOULD BE NO ARGUEMENT AS OONE MAN IN OUR CLUB DID USE ETS BECAUSE HE TOOK A BAD STROKE AND THERE WERE NO OBJECTIONS AND I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHY ANYBODY COMPLAINS ABOUT USING IT BECAUSE YOU STILL NEED TO GET THE BIRDS HOME FIRST

Its about time this subect was brought to light again !!!

IN MY OPINION !!!  ETS is the way forward in pigeon racing with many of us working at weekends and on different shift patterns it allows us to gain important information about our birds and also enables us to maintian a "HAPPY" family life.

What the Fanciers need to recognise is that it is 2006 and this is the future of pigeons. There is too many people quick to jump in and say "ITS NOT FAIR".

Lets get the ETS systems in all our lofts and GET RID OF THE DEAD WOOD FANCIERS (YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE) !!!

So what if the Lottery grant is paying for it , save the fanciers money.

COME ON THE ETS !!!

PS (WHERE IS THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO BUY 200 ETS RINGS)

Im the proud owner of red cock, a theelen x aarden that flew exceptional as a young bird this year, he won 2 x 1st 1 x 3rd and 1 x 4th however the last two weeks he has shown serious signs of stress when he has returned due to being clocked. Last week he returned with his sister who won 1st, he came in 7 minutes later and this week the same happened, this time he took 22 minutes.

In my opinion with ETS he would have won 6 x 1st on the bounce, won an RPRA award and still be enjoying racing, now he is already looking at retirement!!!!!

Most of our club use it. great for training if your working and can't be at the loft for the bird return. Also a quicker method to race mark the birds, however it has let a few of our members down in the past with ET rings not being recognised. We where told by the supplier that members should check each ring is being reconised prior to taking the birds for marking in case the rings get damaged. Overall i think it's a good system that is becoming more popular even by those  fanciers who where 100% against it at the outset, but i definatly would'nt use it for national racing, maybe use it as a second clock if permitted (@,@)

its ok having the ets system, but wot happens to those who cannot afford it and cannot get a lottery grant to help in getting one?.surely its fairer for everyone to have the same ?.

i can understand ppl saying that if they are away, then their birds will be clocked by the ets,..the way i see it is that ets is a god send to disabled flyers who cannot clock a bird...this system would enable ppl who would love to race pigeons into our sport. ...im just happy running into the cot and catching my bird....when i finally get one that is .lol.

It aint funny, the system has caused so much grief in our sport, however thanks to lottery grants it is more acceptable, why , because this is the only way every club member will have a chance of using the system as many cannot afford the thing out of their own pockets.

It is only when every club member uses the system that it can be classed as fair.

I still have some unanswered reservations about it in terms of national racing but will give it a try next year for club races thanks to our club's successful grant  ;)

Well said Chris !,

2006 or not some fanciers would/will still struggle to find justyifing (spelling) the cost of the systems, that is why these grants are available to apply for, it can't be a bad thing otherwise your then going to turn the sport into one of those which " those who have money can use the system, and those who don't will never know, i think that's what it comes down too basically, maybe i'm simplifiying it a bit too much but take away the lottery grants and some fanciers will never be given the chance to use the ets and then make up there minds whether it's for them or not, my own idea is that once it's tried it probably is better all round, i don't know as i use a clock, i certainly would'nt knock anybody else for using it, as has been said before many times the pigeons still have to come for you whether you have a clock or the ets system.
