Agree with Andy, A detailed statement of all the FACTS should be given to all the members of the SNFC. At the end of the day people pay hard earned money to join the SNFC and if there is (rumors/gossip/hearsay) flying around and it is giving the sport of pigeon racing a bad name then the SNFC should be giving out a clear message to there members reassuring them that all is ok. It is a sad day when Sport of Pigeon Racing reaches the newspapers for the WRONG REASON !!!

Just to let you know that the sale of Gavins pigeons went ahead yesterday all the birds (RACING & STOCK) have now been sold.

UPDATE ON THE SALE OF THE STOCK BIRDS I spoke to Willie tonight and he says he has been overwhelmed by the response of the fancy regarding the interest in his stock pigeons, at present there is a few birds left and again any interested give Willie a phone. The sale of the racers is still going ahead (December 2nd) again NOT TO BE MISSED !!!! There is around 30 (2006) pigeons and they have all flown the program. I would like to congratulate Gavin Aitken and Family from Kennoway on Winning the "KINGDOM ASSOCIATION FANCIER OF THE YEAR 2006". The Aitken family have achieved results with there pigeons that most of us will only dream of, in the last 6 years there team of Mardon Van Reets have have gained over 40 First prizes and many First Federations places (birdage up to 4000 birds) They were the Fife Federation fanciers of the year in 2004 and now Kingdom association Fanciers of the 2006. I was visiting the Aitken lofts last week and was informed that due to health issues all the birds were going to be sold. This partnership work there pigeons hard and stick to system which has been tried and tested (and also works) therefore no passengers are kept in there lofts. It will be a sad day to see these pigeons go but to all the fanciers out there who moan about "NOT" winning !!! save your pennies up and come along to this sale as you will "NOT BE DISSAPOINTED" these pigeons can only be described as "PURE CLASS". Just had a phone call today informing me of an up and coming sale of the pigeons belonging to Gavin Aitken from Kennoway. It has been a long and hard decision for the family to give up the birds but the time has come for the family to start concentrating on there health. Most of the fanciers if Fife will know the performances of this small team loft and will also appreciate the dedication this family has put into there lofts in order to achieve such performances. In the last few years the Aitken name has hardly been out of the top 20 in the "Fife Federation" and in the past 2 seasons "The Kingdom Association". They are past winners of "The Fife Fancier of The Year" and were members of Kennoway Club which itself is a hard Club to win in. More Details of this sale will be posted soon.

Its about time this subect was brought to light again !!! IN MY OPINION !!! ETS is the way forward in pigeon racing with many of us working at weekends and on different shift patterns it allows us to gain important information about our birds and also enables us to maintian a "HAPPY" family life. What the Fanciers need to recognise is that it is 2006 and this is the future of pigeons. There is too many people quick to jump in and say "ITS NOT FAIR". Lets get the ETS systems in all our lofts and GET RID OF THE DEAD WOOD FANCIERS (YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE) !!! So what if the Lottery grant is paying for it , save the fanciers money. Less Birds sent = Higher Birdage Cost !!!!!!!!! SO WHAT !!! if it cost X amount to send a bird then so be it ??? Maybe Pigeon fanciers would be more choosy of what bird they send, "THE QUALITY NOT QUANTITY" comes up time and time but never a true statment was said, Law of averages means you send 60 and some one sends only 1, you stand a better chance of getting the first bird. Pigeon racing should not come down to MONEY ! first and foremost it should be the care and welfare of the BIRDS (with no expense spaired) !!
