hi all

im just opening a thread to see what you all did before you started with pigeons?

for me it was breeding tropical fish and breeding Hamsters. and keeping Bantam chickens. so feel free to share what you did before you started with pigeons.

kept greyhounds canaries ferrets whippets done alot of poaching had some budgies as well kept a lot of things ,when i was a lot younger one of my hobbies was climbing under bridges to catch pigeons .

when i was 13 i had a tawny owl as a pet,he use to follow me all over on my bike,he was ace.he use to sit on top of my house and when people walked by they were fasinated to see an owl on the house,then i use to shout him and he use to take off and glide down to me,he stopped with me for about 2 yrs then got a mate has he came back one morning with another friend to say his farewells i think,never saw him after that. :B

Believe it or not my dad bought a pigeon loft complete with nestboxes and perches (18x6) 3 sections.........and we kept......goats in it.

 

That was when I was a kid, then we started keeping a few fantails, then we started keeping racing pigeons, joined club and never looked back.

me i was an international porn star... ;D ;D ;D...i mean i kept dogs for(rabbiting)and everything connected to poaching/fishing/football/shooting and i also kept over 100 diff species of birds like canaries/cocatiels/budgies for over 15 yrs...u know the types.

inbetween that i used to be a stonemason/builder...as a past time lol....paul

A bit of a common thread here, ferreting & shooting, kept a few rabbits then moved onto pigeons. It seems strange how a lot of fanciers have moved from killing birds to caring for them.

Fly fishing was my pastime, some times with all the argueing in pigeons, I often consider going back to fly fishing.
