according to the louella website, you can get opal jan aarden?

I'm never heard of them. Has anyone else?

strange!

I noticed that too, and like you never heard of opals in the Aarden pigeons

for me the true aardens are dark cheq pieds and white flights no others, look at birds that the house of aardens advertise. these are the best not crossed.

no reason for Jan Ardens not to have Opals some of the Jan Ardens have a bronze on the chequering and red from Invincible sprirt , but i do think there wildermesh certainly look like wildermesch but they can do 570 miles  ;)

I don't know about Louella Wildies - but one of ours did 545 miles this year - one of louella Jan Ardens didn't as it didn't home (we only sent 2)

Did I see on another thread that Dick Darky was 4th combine Bourges with a wildie?

Agree with that. All jan aardens in my loft are darks and dark pieds. Also crossed with delbars and got blue pieds and cheqs

Marvellous eh! Even Jan Ardens son say after a very short while the few left via his dad were no longer there, and was amazed that so many had these 'True Bloodlines'.

Personally no matter what the Name / Strain, it's what they acheived under any name.

After all 'A rose smells just as sweet under any other name'!

Bob had the best but the last batch i saw at Blackpool for sale wern't a patch on the birds he had in the 80's!

I think they have become to inbred no and removed from the originals although the blood lines are there for a good outcross.
