Guest joshdonlan Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Ive heard the sale of ' Nadira the Wonder Hen', has finsihed last weekend in Belgium. I believe the final bid went to the combination of Jos Thone (Belgium), and John Hanson (Aust). Final price, Euro 74,400 ( only a mere Aus $152,413) . John Hanson has a pair of youngsters from this hen according to October 2008 Journal.

Gaz Jennings Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 She is a very very good hen that has a racing record second to none, but for the life of me i cant understand why anyone would pay 74,400 euros for any pigeon no matter what it had done.To what aim is the purpose of it,obviosly she was bought by money men to make money, why else?????but surley you wont get your money back off her,if it were a cock then it would be a different story ie the bull system, but not a hen.To me this is the reason so many people are going out of our sport, its getting ridiculous money wise, exactly the same as football, money has wrecked the game and im afraid we are going the same way,That is my opinion anyway. Cheers Gaz.

Cheers Gaz. Spot on !!!!!!! "Pigeon madness 100%" I would say, & you will never stop it etc unfortunately. Now, John Hanson for what I understand (grin grin) etc, runs a large breeding stud here. Chook farm (smile smile) could be another way of describing it, thou he is not on his own in this area. So one does not have to be too smart to know ???????????? who at the end of the day will be paying for it. Thou it will not be me, have no doubt on that fact. Enjoy.
kevinfrail123 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 tell we could have gone fishing for a month or two a broad with that lolololol
Guest LBuddle Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 She was bred and raced by L Lessmister of Germany.

(wink wink) but I'm saying nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!! here now. This sport can mighty be dangerous, if one doesn't watch them selves at times. Enjoy.
budgie Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 If this Good Hen has not left anything for its Owner she is absolutely No Good to anyone else and falls within the 98% Sh-te Rule.Dont be kidded, she was bought to enhance the selling of other pigeons within the New Loft and we all know the Potential Problems which will arise for the Unfortunate Fanciers who may try and invest as Stated by Lennat.Watch the Gimmicks to promote, and the Deceptive Descriptions being branded by certain individuals and do Leopards ever change their Spots. Our great sport can be mighty Dangerous and costly if we are not Street Wise. Take care .dont be conned and keep clear of aged stock birds. All the Best 2009 Budgie ;)
Chris Little Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 A lovely looking hen but a waste of money. Fortune Lady has a better racing record her, wonder how much she would have fetched had she been in the auction
dkj Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 lovely hen wish it was me who got her. best of luck 2 the new owners. and its only worth what u want 2 pay
budgie Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 We have spend silly money in the past when certain families were the fashion but believe me the pigeons that you appreciate are the ones you get in exchanging or buying at sales for worthy causes.Lets all take a Stance and when the bidding goes over say £200 we bale out.Keep clear of fancy advertising because in the end that is what we are paying for and try and ensure that we are buying prepotancy which it is some thirty years since i saw such a pair and even at that they were around 10 years old and the fancier who purchased them got nothing in return for parting with his hard earned cash. :X :X :X Just look at some of Web Sites and you will see the strains that are out off or going out of fashion:-Rolland Janseen( Grizzels) and Stall Van Reets :(

hotrod Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 SILLY money for a pigeon .IT sould be the breeders that should make good money in sales not the racers.GIVE ME the hen that lays the golden eggs any day
