sapper756 Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Just noticed quite a number of hotels advertising in the pigeon mags, still quite a few near the winter gardens, which are usually all snapped up by now. Also busses advertising they still have many seats and willing to go out their way from normal to accomodate pick ups. Does this mean less fanciers than before, and will this have an effect on prices of birds at auctions? :-/
ALF Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 It may well have an affect on the price of the pigeons Sapper as there ain't a lot of cash about at this time of year for us mere mortals mate :(
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 1. Does this mean less fanciers than before, 2. Will this have an effect on prices of birds at auctions? :-/ 1. Hope so - more room to move 2. Hope so (evil) might be able to afford to buy something that takes my fancy
Guest Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 At the prices some people are asking for birds and the general lack of cash, I can see sellers paying the binmen to take them away.

swilcox Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 The price of everything has fallen so why should pigeons be any different, i see in the pigeon book this week, a fancier asking for £1500, £1000, £900 etc, its crazy money if you ask me. Stuart

Stuart I seen the advert you are talking about myself Stuart but i think they will struggle to shift them at the prices asked no matter how good they are!

sapper756 Posted January 10, 2009 Author Report Posted January 10, 2009 One or two will get good money for sure but it will be a fair auction so its you guys that set the price. See you there
ALF Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 See you there I might be there myself unless i get caught up in company :-/ ;)
retired Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 I hope the price drops in everything, i dont want no birds unless the odd young bird takes my fancy which is unlikely but i need a fair bit of other things such as hormoform etc. I chuck x amount of money into an old 2 litre vodka bottle and leave it until Blackpool this ensures i always have a good amount to spend on any birds, equipment and drink we want.
BANDIT Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Hi everyone I agree with most of comments regarding prices at blackpool this year, I was at the german show in kassel for the last 2 years and this year the birds and products were cheaper than the previous year. What the sellers want and what the sellers get a re totaly different, it will be a buyers market bargain if buying more than 1 product or bird at a stand, if no discount walk away and come back sunday and you will be able to name your own price as they wont want to bring anything back home again, just heard of fanciers cancelling birds ordered from belgium so now you know not a load of money about. to everybody happy newyear BANDIT
