Guest IB Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Weather is not looking too clever, foggy here all day lifted just before dark, and forecast is same Saturday & Sunday. Got caught out with haar off Forth not far from you when training from the 'pans one evening during OB racing; 2 worked through it no bother, other 3 lay out overnight, and came back OK next morning. You've plenty high buildings around so they will perch up no bother and come back when weather clears.

greenlands Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Sorry for your loss Gary,my mate done the same with his young birds two or three years ago,I think he ended up loosing 17.You should stand a better chance with old birds .Good luck for the morning hope they are all waiting for you. Lindsay
Guest joshdonlan Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 good luck mate, let us know how you get on
Guest lenwadebob Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Gutted for you Gary, but they will be back once the fog clears in the morning. Hope the weather is good to them tomorrow.

catchthepigeon Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 its a bit late in the day to be letting birds out you should really be calling them in at that time did you feed them before they got out have a wee drive round your area im sure they will all be on the roof tops round about you

paul10121968 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 im sure they will all return tommorow, look on it as a good inclement weather training session.beleive it or not they will learn from this.a night out on the tiles is a good thing and prepares them for the longer hard races.i have trained mine in the rainy misty conditions on purpose to force them to work and come through it.what they encounter on their way home from a race they will be better prepared for.
Guest stb- Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 my birds on open bowl all the time, they been out in the fog last few days . they dissapear into the fog about 50yds from loft then you see them again when they go over head. I have had this before when they were not used to it but they all came back. you should get them back ok m8 just got to watch out for injuries when out in the mist
