Guest frank dooman Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 we struggled to get the doos ready for newbury our doos were getting blow homes every week and i dont think we were past the 200 mile mark. i sent 7 good doos got 4 i was realy confident before the race but with the doos not having anytime on the wing and 5 days in the crates it was a nightmare for us north boys but i for one will try again this season . and by the way i sent to 6 snfc races that was a big prob last year robbie we were at leicester and only got 5 hrs on the wing so if you wanted to send to the main race you had to put them on to the wanstead flats race for time on the wing every race was a tesco race

hotrod Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 i'll answer you whitty , most of my birds sent to our inland race are trainers and one or two with a couple of pound on as well as its a fed duplication race .I think like some of the other posters, do away with these inland NATS races as feds/combines could easily do them as they used to do . and to all them out there stating it gives the new starts/novices a chance to compete at national level ,i say no probs they can but over the water like it used to be ,the holy grail A DIPLOMA FROM THE NATIONAL ,SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF ,not an easy one from the coast (my opinion) TEN A PENNY .

Guest bigda Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 i think this year, the race should be from penzance, just to give every national member a chance . west this year center, the next then east, the following year. to refuse this would admit, there where advantages for certain areas , simple proposal. west this year for inland races. if it not to happen well i would think there are advantages that they don't want to give up, no matter bigda will expose, the Pilgrims that are not very charitable :o ;D

Guest bigda Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 maybe you could get a east wind as well ? well go east and you more likly to get west wind that is not the problem as the 2 coasts at annan are only 30 wide so they will be well on the east side most times if the wind stays to the norm, but at the first 300 mile its every doo for its self to find cover where as you go east there high cliffs all along that coast line to give shelter there are none on the west side all the way home blackpool and morcambe you can see the tide out, flat for 5mile from the coast cant say the same on the east side
