Guest bigda Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Plenty faint hearted ones when it comes to Saintes, how many went in previous seasons?. think the problem was such the birds took a bad hit, and to many fancers had to many away that day as the weeks building up to the races where called off if you remember fed not going and some have 4,000 birds missing

Guest frank dooman Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Plenty faint hearted ones when it comes to Saintes, how many went in previous seasons?. 5 fanciers sent 13 birds 4 timmed in race time 9 out the 13 home that i know of thats over 50% returns from at least 640mls i would say thats a great result thats last years result the year before was much the same i think we have been in the top 450 in the NFC In the last 2 years thats not just snrpc members thats snfc members as well its open to any one as long as they are members of the NFC
Guest frank dooman Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 With respect idont think that was the reason for the poor entries as there were only a handfuul at Saintes every year if you look at the no,s at androzell the long distance birds are thinner on the ground now but its only been going 2 years now it has to start some where its set up to let the fanciers that want to go to that distance thats not for every one so have a go this year yourself

Guest frank dooman Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 i think Les McKay was 765 or there abouts last year so right up to walter say yes it would be over 800mls

Rebus Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Sorry Frank I have no fear of competing from the extreme distance but until it can attract a decent entry i am not interested.
Guest frank dooman Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Sorry Frank I have no fear of competing from the extreme distance but until it can attract a decent entry i am not interested. ok but we all need to test our birds to see if they can do that distance there will never be hundreds from scotland but there are thousands in the race much more than any nat race in scotland so the entry is there to beat if the birds are good enough all the best with your raceing what ever you decide
walterbmasson Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 HOTROD AS I SAID BEFORE THE LONGEST EVENTS NEED TO BE UP FIRST THING or were crusifed with the hrs of darkness so even 700miles with a early start no chance i would like to time on day if possible so no point sending to be quite honest since bigda posted inland races split north and south i would go with that what would you say i think a lot o happy chappies good positions for sprint and 500milers would you agree let us know your honest truth hotrod

Guest uphallhen Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 you know the west is where the hardiest doos are, the birds have to spend the longest on the wing. and make there way back down from arbroth area in most nationals as the have come out so far east with the wind crossing the brock bigda so you are telling use that the national birds are geting held over in the east in the national race'es but on lanarkshire fed racing the doos are not makeing there way back from arbroth and you and the rest of the pilgrims are not getting the first drop of the doos on race day.??????????????????

BLACK W F Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 we lie in the worst place in the national out on the west. ;D every one on the cost has sheds that are no further than 500 yards of the coast. it is possable that the lofts that are that close to the sea might just about last this year before they fall into the sea ;D the only ones we give over fly to is the hillbillys in kirky ;D ;D you should be on the stage danny thats funny as hell ;D ;D ;D
walterbmasson Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 hot rod you will get them to come keep sending thats the answer as you will know good luck

alec guinness Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Like it has already been stated the SNFC was founded on long distance racing and high standards ,these are now being eroded with the introduction of inland racing and prizes being brought down from 1 in 15 to 1 in 10 what next 1in 5 ? we are heading for the Micky Mouse stuff, get back to 500 & 600 mile racing. yes the snfc was founded on long distance racing but who says we cant have a programme to suit all scottish fanciers in 2010 be it inland or channel racing or both?????? as for the prize change being set at 1/10 as against the previous 1/15 imo this is the correct ratio check out most of the other uk nationals and classic organisations and you will see 1/10 1/8 1/7 so are these organisations mickey mouse????????? going by last years programme we had 300 400 500 600 mile racing for most snfc men!!!!,pigeon fanciers in scotland are thin on the ground and the national must cast its net to all corners. ;) ;)
Guest bigda Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 bigda so you are telling use that the national birds are geting held over in the east in the national race'es but on lanarkshire fed racing the doos are not makeing there way back from arbroth and you and the rest of the pilgrims are not getting the first drop of the doos on race day.?????????????????? hall, £50 says coatbridge dose not get the first drop of the doos shotts, carluke, larkhall, lanark, do any takers to prove bigda wrong ill give you hal one week to come up with the proof put this old chestnut to bed
