mosslands1 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 hiya mac before you dose your birds with flagyl consider these three facts . flagyl is now banned for human use also banned for creatures that enter our food chain because flagyl interfers with our imune system . birds too . flagyl was mostly used by women for a vaginal complaint called thrush . and the best know natural cure for this is fresh natural yogurt ... lol
mac1 Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 is flagyl save to use on ybs,how much is the correct dose for ybs

Flagyl is advertised on the web, and is for humans. Only warning is side effects, and two pigeonbasics members can vouch for these, describing themselves feeling really sick - after the medics treatment. Meant for humans, makes humans feel sick, wonder what the birds feel like after treatment?

ken Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 hi i have just getting some flagyl tablets of my mate do i give my birds one each or do i half them
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 It depends how big they are Ken ( in mg) - 200mg, 250mg, 500mg or bird size 50mg, 100mg theres a thread in the health section on flagyl
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 I was told 1/4 tablet - then 36 hours later, another 1/4 some people just give half a tablet in one go others have different ideas again, read the thread http://www.pigeonbasics.com/forum/blah/m-1177265518/
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 9, 2007 Report Posted June 9, 2007 250mg is 1/2 a tab 250mg is half a 500mg tablet : Ken's talking about 250mg tablets in which case 1/2 of that is 125mg
Simeon Turner Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Can anyone tell me the dosage for Flagyl Liquid 200mg in the water. I have use this many times but my mind as gone blank re the dosage :B :B Thanks in anticipation
Fair Play Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 According to the web 1250/2500mg/gallon for between 4 to 7days 1 level teaspoon = 2500mg 1/2 teaspoon = 1250 They advise 1250 in warm weather as birds drink more and 2500 in the cooler weather. One also advises mix with food as it is not very soluable in water another advises tablet form so take your pick Type in "flagyl for pigeons" and a whole load of stuff comes up
