Injections you could use either Baypamune or Zylexis, alternatively you can also use a powdered form putting over the food the products name is medimmune marketed by Medpet, you can contact their agent in the uk on 0191 5144813.

I don't think you give anything as an immunity booster, I think it's looking after the pigeon and it's living environment - hygiene rather than cleanliness - so that if something nasty does get in there, it's in very small numbers and 'challenges' a bird that is more than capable (healthy enough) to look after itself.

Put them on open hole or out in an aviary and toughen them up, this is better than any immunity booster.

open hole to hawks and other b.o.p. would be like opening a free mac donnalds fly-thru  for them  :X

I had some on open hole last year and I only lost one, the pigeons were just a lot happier ;-). No substitute for that choice to be able to get out when they want!

not bad i lost 3 in one week id soon loose a full team just flying around loft  ;)

As i posted before Mark, i've got a team of latebreds that are excercised every day before being fed in, they fly for an hour what ever the weather and none of them have been hit. I put it down to them becoming street wise, they know if anything is around and dissapear from the area coming back when all is clear or they head for the clouds.

If you open up birds and leave them out after being shut up for a couple of months then expect to lose some as they won't be either street wise or fit!

that could be just as in effective if i lost 3 birds in one week at back end of season and continued to let them out i wouldnt have a team left by now even if i gave them all machine guns and machettis , but now i dont have a hawk problem again and its not been seen the birds will have plenty of time to get themselves fit again , and hopefuly the hawks either starved to death or found another food source , but just because it's not around anymore i still need to be with the birds throughout there exercising when the time comes ;)

I just did it as an experiment, as i had stopped racing. During racing I would lose a few per season to the hawk. But the open hole method seemed to work the opposite way, they became wise to the hawk and would strike off etc! Each to there own though eh ;-)

deep litter,, the y/birds will develop their own immunity any that don't get rid ,

This has been my experience too. Birds do become more watchful, and more aware of what's going on around them.

i know why not to use antibiotics ROBBIEDOO ASKED ME TO GO TO LEIR MARKET TWO YEARS AGO I SAID I WOULD GO anyway he took some videos of belgium fanciers and lofts to be honest i was shocked when i looked at a couple of them in fact the fanciers that buys that rubbish would need to hire a full time vet any way i decieded not to waste my time out of the four fanciers that purchased birds that year all have posts on this site after a couple of weeks 3/4 died with out the dreaded anti biotics i noticed this year the bus is cancelled i wonder why .......... I WILL ALSO GO AS FAR EVERY PIGEON LOFT THAT IS CLOSED UP IS USING A LOT OF DRUGS AND IF THEY SAY DIFFERENT THERES A LOT OF PORKIES BEING TOLD ; FANCIERS JUST STARTING INTO THIS SPORT A WEE BIT OF ADVICE JUST LOOK AT A FEW BELGIUM VIDEOS IF LOOKING AT IMPORTING BIRDS BUT BE PREPAIRED FOR LARGE VET BILL [ DONT START USING DRUGS NATURAL REMIDIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL DISEASES AND CERTAINLY A LOT CHEAPER GET THE AIR FLOWING ROUND YOUR LOFT I DONT THINK THERES ANYTHING BETTER AND COSTS NOTHING ..............

Also agree with walterbmasson. Mine have the fronts still open. The stock birds in the avery are real fine. Infact have a slight edge on the other three very well aireated sections.

its a sad day when you need a immune booster i think if a bird needs antibiotis its not worth having in the long term .why would you need a immune booster in the first place its something i wouldnt use even if it was for free .as for belguim birds getting all this and that i think alot of our own fancier use a lot of things they wont tell you about just to try and gain a little bit of advantage. i bought 24 birds last year to muck about with from the spring exchange and leir market killed 6 lost6 12 left from a so called hard young bird season half left which is about average going by fellow club members so there not all bad
