chichichi Posted July 19, 2009 Report Posted July 19, 2009 we have had some luck with birds through the years but 2000 was the best bit of luck we have ever had,, we seen an advert in the homing world from mr & mrs stanway in manchester.. we rang them and ordered 6 birds,, a mixture of van reets, rene newelerts and herman van de weyers.. them 6 birds are the back bone of our lofts.. the van reets have bred over 10 fed winners,, and over 30 club winners.. the herman van de weyers have bred over 20 club winners and 2 fed winners and the rene newerlerts were crossed into the van reets and bred many many winners.. the best money ever spent on birds by us.. we have 2 of the original birds still left and they are both breeding winners every year.. thank you mr peter stanway,, ant

superstar Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Staf Van Reets without any shaddow of a doubt! as for the worst pigeons?? None I've tried have lived with the Van Reets as yet but that dont make the others bad I guess.
Guest Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Best - Busschaert, Nachtegaele, Wildemeersch, Janssens, Barkers, plus quite a few others. Have been fortunate to have been blessed with some good pigeons over the years. Worst - have had plenty of bad ones, as we all have. Think the worst i've had were Marcellis and De Vadder birds!

Roland Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Best, well from a Tom Robinson of Scarborough. had 10 youngsters and they set me up... winning as broken birds to three different lofts and areas. Then Delbars from the 'Man' of Skegness. The worst ... well far far too amny to reacll lol.
vanreets Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 THE BEST HAS TO BE OUR SOONTJENS WIN FROM 60 MILS UP TO 4OO MILS THAY ARE FROM J S LOFTS WORST HAS TO BE VANREETS KEVIN ELLIOTT why is you worst van reets
Roland Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Yes that man was the Smith's loft that flew so well with the delbars. Never remember when I need it to come t mind... Was on the ... when it came to me lol.
chrissy Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Our best bird so far is a White Busschaert from Jim Black from Edinburgh, he bought it at Blackpool for for £1100 and has bred five winners of it. Duncan had done jobs for him and he gifted it to me for our racing stock Out worst bird was when we just started, Duncan bought it from a fancier in Kirkcaldy who call himself "The Birdman" It was a carrier of salmonella and wiped out all our stock either with sickness or eventually culling the whole lot and torching our loft. It did however teach us a valuable lesson although a costly one from the DEFRA vets in Perth who were extremely helpful and also the members on the site at the time Would the white busschaert be the one we have seen pics of before,if so you should show him!!,he is by far the best looking white racer we have ever seen,a fantastic head on him.
Guest mick bowler Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 I've had less best a lot worse. Best: Busschaert, Van reet, Van Loon, meuleman, biggest impact being last 2. Worst: Van den Bosche (or van Den Loscht) costing a fortune (cheers del), closely followed by JD Follows Kirkpatricks.
slinky slitheroe Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 the best ive brought in is the kevin lawson birds winning ,and fred jamieson birds topping the fed . and for the future john proctor and kipp birds THe best ive ever bought were wildys . The worst were the yellow kilparticks and the chocolate muelemans never even got one in the basket all lost of the loft or when they mingled with other pigeons. :o :o
swilcox Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Best would be Frans Zwols and going back the Hession Van Reets. Worst would be Gabys and Wim Muller pigeons in the early 90's but i was probaly too young then to know how to use them. Stuart
andy Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Worse were Vandenabeeles purchased from the Europa One loft race and bred by the so-called best in the land. The best percentage wise were a pair purchased at the same sale from the Kuwaiti entrants, bred winners in nearly every nest and won a fortune cash wise. I named them PETROL and DIESEL. No pedigrees but I believe they were Ganus pigeons.
