Guest IB Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 My nest bowls are B&R German style, plastic sides & plastic mesh bottom. All they need at the end of the season is a quick wash in hot soapy water, with some disinfectant added. Nothing ever builds up on the rims or sides as when in use, I sprinkle Stalosan, around and under the bowl, at least weekly. Same with the nest felts.
tskyes Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Just wait till thye missis goes out shopping, take the main crap off and the feathers, etc. like and bung them in the Washing machine. jimmy white Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 i usually steep them in the pigeon bath,, with jeyes fluid [not with birds out ] then tip the remains over the slabs near the loft doors and all around , ive often used a watering can with jeyes fluid all round the loft outside ,, i find that most fanciers keep their lofts clean but forget about the outside loft vicinity,, where most of the cocci oocysts are and worm eggs etc ,, think we all tend to forget this ,,,,,,,,,,i have recently done this with virkon,s on a regular bases
chickadee Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 we steep in water with bleach then we rewash in fresh water with bleach and let them dry out works great.
