Following the last post about strains going out of fashion - does anyone still have the Van Hees or Imbrechts.......

 

I still have a direct son of Honeymans Dream, who won 1st SNFC Rennes ;) and he is Van Hee

there was a sale a few weeks ago of heb allison from ayrshire he ha some great ones via george brownlee from carluke .

i tried the imbrechts in 1984 these were the first lot from louella although i won 1st fed on a few occasions  i could not get them from the 500 mile races. i found they were too soft imo

most ive seen or had have been red/pied   mealy/pied  blue/pied  etc

the dixion birds are mostly blues and blue checks  but ive seen the odd wf

Where do the Imbrechts come from?

 

the guy that bred this family was germain imbrecht  from belgium i think  some people used to think they came from germany because of his name (german imbrechts lol)instead of germain

Am i right in saying that one of the base pigeons for imbrecht came from a church steeple as a stray.?

that i would not know but i liked the look of them back then so gave them a go then dispossed of them .ps beautiful pigeons reds and mealies

My uncle bought 10 of them (Imbrechts) around 1990-91 and they were belters but i think only 1 of them won so the there were moved on

yes frank they topped the fed a few times for me at up to 200 miles ,but after that it was ta ta .
