SPD dont pick them up from there, so any information will help. Scottish have been on the phone i explained to them about me working off-shore and also sending them an email explaining the situation which they said they never recieved > > I have also phoned the NON-FANCIER explaining to them. Dougie.
cemetary Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 Kyle of Lamlash, IV40 8HE, i dont have a clue David, according to the SPDS they dont pick up from there. I phoned the non fancier and left a message.

REDCHEQHEN Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Do you mean Kyle of Lochalsh in the Hebrides?
Blue Chequer Pied Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Hello, try AJG Parcels in Inverness 01463 715843 they sub contract for Amtrak. If they could even get it as far as the Elgin Depot I could pick it up for you and try to get it into Fife for you. Paul.

REDCHEQHEN Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 i think your right susan i,ve looked for kyles of lamlash and ca,nt find it there is a lamlash but its on the isle of arran ,ally mac. might be able to help he stays in oban , The post code IV40 8HE and Kyle of Lochalsh are 12 miles apart (I don't suppose there are that many houses are there?)
cemetary Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 I have just phoned the gentleman there, what he is going to doo is toss the bird 10 miles away from his house, if it goes back to him i will have to get it picked up, its good that he has informed me of the bird and fed and watered it though. SPDS say they dont pick up from there, as its on an island, but when i spoke to the man he said no no. The addy is Quoy Loo Inverinate Glen Shiel Kyle of Lamlash IV40 8HE. Paul thanks for the offer mate, :) i will keep all posted on the progress. See Hary, there is people oot there willing to help. ;D ;D if you cam and picked me up last week, i could have got the bird.
Fair Play Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 How in the name of heavens did it land up away over there where was it racing from. It could have been sent on to Fort William and picked up on any route in to Glasgow.
Roland Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Seriously, a three tier padle board with a out door motor ... and Roberts your mothers brother! ;D
Guest IB Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Know any railway folk?? I've never heard of Kyles of Lamlash and thought of Arran off Ayrshire coast too. But it is an Inverness postcode, and that puts it on the A87 - the road runs from Kyle of Lochalsh via Keppoch and the Great Glen (Loch Ness) to Inverness. Its not an island, but the road does appear to run on causeways, east and west, so might feel like one. Appears to be 15 miles inland from Kyle of Lochalsh, so instead of going 10 miles and tossing the bird to lose it, might be better to give him the petrol money to go to Kyle of Lochalsh railway station and pop it on a train to Inverness (3 hours). There are trains from Inverness direct to Markinch and Kirkcaldy (3 hours) if you can collect it, or maybe SPDS from Inverness?
Fair Play Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Spds have a depot at Fort William and what I didn't know depots in Leeds & Manchester for next day delivery to Scotland.
Guest IB Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Spds have a depot at Fort William Well although its a fair hike [A87 (Fort William - Fort Augustus) / A82] the roads network is there and they should be able to pick up the pigeon.
Fair Play Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 It's approx 60 miles what I meant about Fort William was they advertise a daily pickup from Fort william to Dundee
