I use vitamin c (ascorbic acid which is also a preservative) or a manufactured acid (such as enviroboost, quill boost or Avidress plus)

I use to use apple cider vinegar but changed 3 years ago to avidress

It does seem to have reduced the canker in my birds , may be other factors of course but my last 9 test results have come back clear for canker
