  1. Hi, Thought I'd share something from the future, Internet Explorer 7 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/default.mspx There is a version for download to play with but unless you have a backup browser I suggest you dont do it (it will replace IE6 on your system) - Beta means that its not completely finished yet! [There are some bugs with it, but it seems to me to be a big step from Explorer 6 ] Personal view -> I still prefer Firefox :)
  2. Hello, I have decided to purchase a syndicate for 'Bill's All Colour Race 2006' (run by member Chatrace). For more details on this one loft race please visit his website at http://hometown.aol.com/chatrace2001/Extrapage.html The syndicate consists of 4 birds, which are accepted to the loft within the month of April. If you live in the US and would like to donate a bird for the Pigeonbasics.com syndicate please post up or send me a pm This one loft race will provide us with some interest seeing how we fare against the other 140 birds, and of course as a team of 4 There are 0 places left as part of the Pigeonbasics.com syndicate: Hyacinth (Red Rose Lofts) D. Brooks MsPigeon Slugmonkey The syndicate is paid for by myself (not out of website funds) - we can arrange carrage to Bill's Loft - In the event of the syndicate winning a cash prize, money will be going towards Website Funds. 3. Good Luck with your newly appointed positions I see you now have a mini-site http://www.pigeonbasics.com/clubs/todmordenhs/ if you have any troubles post them up and we'll be able to sort them out
  4. Hi, Last night I uploaded the first part of the revised Mini-Sites Admin System Numerous late nights have been put into rewriting the system to make it better in virtually every area, and work is still being carried out on some new and existing features which are not available on the new system as of yet. If you are the administrator to a Mini-Site on Pigeonbasics.com please post up what you think of the new system, for better or worse I'd like to know where it needs improving All Administrators will be required to login to the system before the new racing season to acknowledge that they wish to keep their club or federation on the system for this year. - there's nothing worse than seeing empty/unused mini-site I'll be posting on this topic when new updates are finished Webmaster

Please find attached a link to the Defra website which provides further details of the risk assessment scheme I referred to in my letter. Four sample risk assessment studies are included and will provide you with an indication of the assessment that a species would be put through, as you will see, impact on native species would be included. http://www.defra.gov.uk/wildlife-countryside/resprog/findings/non-native-risks/index.htm The eagle owl is on the list of species that will be assessed later this year and the results of the risk assessment are expected to be published on the Defra website in the Autumn. 6. It really is unbelieveable to what lows some people will stoop to. Robbing a pensioner of his pension money is really the lowest of the lows. I hope that Terry is alright, the shock and distress that this must have caused > I will be only too willing to do this Hyacinth; but its upto the members. If anyone would like to post up their thoughts, please do.
  7. I was very shocked and saddend to hear news of this tragic event. My thoughts are with the people caught up in this disaster. http://www.pigeonbasics.com/news/news254.html

  12. Two common problems: Please make sure you have 'Java Runtime Environment' (also called; Java, etc) installed on your computer. The login page does a quick check for this but may not work on all systems (e.g. Mac, + some browsers). Upon submission of your username the chat room will begin to load (this may take a few minutes the first time), at some point whilst loading a window will open with message asking if you want to 'Run the application' to this you must click 'Run' (may be 'OK', 'Accept', etc in other browsers).

  15. MsPigeon>> It is a photo of me sharing my pigeons in a class of First Graders. I did a whole unit on birds with them and it culminated with pigeons and the release of 100 pigeons on the "100th Day of School". I just think it is important to pass our wonderful sport on in a positive way.

    archive.org

Archive.org is like a search engine, in as much as it will go through each page of content and index it. Archive.org makes an archive of the pages it finds while crawling the internet. It usually documents when a page was updated and can show the version before and after the update. This is what Archive.org say about themselves: "The Internet Archive is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public." Webmaster

  23. I have just upgraded the forum software. Hopefully there are no problems in the upgrade, but if anyone has any, please email the usual place New Functions provided by the Upgrade Some cosmetic changes to some pages, better layout, group coloured member name links... The layout of the Print Topic pages has been improved. Minutes Ago/Today/Yesterday on message dates. Some increases in speed (search for example). Post edit reworked. The calendar function offers now a 'Personalised Calendar' viewable only to the member. Some minor errors and bugfixes, hm fixed And quite a bit more boring behind the scenes stuff Webmaster
