  2. Pigeonbasics Online Show Entries are now open for the Young Bird Non-Racer Class (to have been bred in 2005). To enter please send a photograph of the pigeon by email only to [mail]forum@pigeonbasics.com[/mail]. Also include your message forum username with your entry. Also photos should be taken in the couple of days/week prior to the class being entered. The show is open to all forum members. Entries close midnight (GMT) Sunday 13th November 2005. 3. I will post up the owners to the birds once the poll is finished.
  4. If you pm me with your vote (just the bird number will do) I'll manually add it on. There were 3 votes removed if the other person, (westy I think) could do the same, cheers. Not sure why it will not record your vote for a second time; I'll look into it; but fingers crossed wont have this problem again. :B ::Edit:: Found the votees that were removed, if you could pm me with your vote I will be able to manually add it. westy, Ross, Silverdale_Lofts, Chatrace, big_al, PIGEON_MAN ::Edit::
  5. If you send me your entry by email to [mail]forum@pigeonbasics.com[/mail]. Include your photo as an attachment, and inlcude your forum username in the body of the message. With the YB class on the poll stage, I'm afraid you cant enter that class now, but there are a number of classes still to run; see: http://www.pigeonbasics.com/forum/blah/m-1128100569/s-60/#num68 Webmaster
  6. Sorry there was a problem copying all of the entries into the poll post. If you got an early vote in, these have been removed, as not all birds were present, you will be able to make your vote again. Sorry about that :B

  12. Yes that wouldnt be a problem Hyacinth. Something I forgot to put in my original post; Please dont put anything in the background of the photos that could identify the competitor. Also photos should be taken in the couple of days/week prior to the show being entered. Yup hen & cock in the pairs class.
  13. Tweaked the Chat Login again. Now it will not let you login unless you actually have Java installed (would wouldnt have made it onto the chat room if you'd have tried). Hopefully this will help some people by pointing them in the right direction.
  14. I've collected ideas together, and tried to please everyone Shows: 1. YB Racer (2005 Bred) 2. YB Non-Racer (2005 Bred) 3. OB Racer (Pre 2005) 4. OB Non-Racer (Pre 2005) 5. Any Age Pairs 6. Golden Oldies/Favourites Each show: Entries open; Monday - Sunday, Judging Poll; Monday - Saturday, Results Sunday. That is a 14 day cycle; so when the one weeks show poll opens, the next shows entries will be taken. So we have every week, an entry, and a judge poll. Entries: Limited to one entry per show per member. To be emailed to forum@pigeonbasics.com, and under no circumstances posted onto the forum. If there are no problems that anyone can see with the above, entries to the first show will open tomorrow (Monday 31st) and we will have the classes finished (by my estimations) 18th December; which will leave the Gand Final to be judged over mulled wine and mince pies ;D ;D Webmaster
  15. I will collect all of the ideas posted in the topic, and post up details tomorrow.
  16. Forwarded: "Bruno here. Gordon Chalmers provided this jpeg of a New York newspaper's front page on feral pigeons, including Dr Panigraphy's views on avian flu and pigeons."
  17. The email direct from Peter Bryant. http://www.pigeonbasics.com/news/news230.html

  21. Thanks to Rose who forwarded the following leaflet to me to put on the website. "DEFRA issued the attached leaflet today for small semi-commercial and hobby poultry keepers thought it would be good idea to post it on the forum."
  22. With the next update to the website I will be adding more feeds, from club updates/your club updates/new messages in the message forum... for example. Also added functions to enable feeds to be accessed from Bloglines or any other user feeds website.
  23. RSS news feeds have been added for News And Article sections of http://www.Pigeonbasics.com At the moment they are only relevant to having an 'Active Bookmark' - that is you add the rss link to your bookmarks (favourites in MSExplorer) and when you go into your bookmarks it will contain a list of the most recent news and articles from Pigeonbasics.com. Microsoft Internet Explorer currently isnt able to use the live rss feeds; I suggest you use Firefox Web Browser http://www.getfirefox.com . Firefox: At the bottom of the page (Fig: pic1_4234.gif) Right-Click on the Orange Icon Left-Click on the Feed you wish to Bookmark. Internet Explorer You will need a 'News Reader', well until the next version of the browser comes out. The BBC have a very good page to explain RSS feeds and how to get them: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/help/rss/default.stm
  24. We've just got the chat room back online again.
  25. Havent had allot of time past week or few; but been doing a few tweaks to the forum.
