Hi, When you get an email from me just now thats when you will have access again to the mini-site admin system. Got all of the updates/checks done last night, and got a few of the mini-sites back working, noticed it was 4:30am, thought I'd get a bit of shut eye and I'll get the rest on now Richard

I have sent all of the emails to the mini-site administrators, if you are an admin, and havent received one, please send me an email or your mini-site may be deleted from the website. These mini-sites are ones which I've had emails returned from (email address no longer exists). West Lothian Federation - David Fleming Armadale HS - David Fleming Sacriston HS - Kris Coils Sacriston Federation - Kris Coils Stirling HS - John Stewart Rectory Lane FC - Anthony Cole Fredricksburg Homing Pigeon Club - Majid Abedi Hurlford HS - Jim McCann Humber Social FC - Scott Stephenson Holytown FC - Robert Cairns Hawston HU - Abri Bucchianeri Aberdeen Central RPC - AS Robertson DeLand RPC - Guy Johnson If any members can get in contact with any of these people or members of their clubs, would you please ask them to contact me at clubs@pigeonbasics.com. Otherwise ulitmately those mini-sites will be closed if I dont hear anything by next week. The mini-site admin system will be closed for the next couple of days, while I give everything a good check over and update a couple of bits and pieces. We'll be back to normal service (I hope ) by the weekend . Richard

Hi, I'm in the process of putting the mini-sites back online. Each mini-site administrator will receive an email once I have done their site - enclosed will be some more details for their mini-site too, so if you do not receive this email message within the next 24 hours please email me. Richard

I anticipate that there will be a certain amount of data loss with whats happened. I'm just waiting for some data to be sent to me from our hosts which hopefully will make things all better . Bad news - it could be a day or two

I can tell you something strange has happened! I'll investigate and report back

Hi, Thanks Scott. I'll look into adding a counter when come to do the front end I've just finished updating the details page. Everyone who admins a mini-site please go and update your 'Parent Org'. There is now a drop down box containing all of the (feds if you are a club, combines if you are a fed...) on the mini-site system. If your parent organisation isnt in the list there still is the text box to put yours in. The difference will be that, if you choose from the drop down box your parent org's mini-site will be linked from yours, and yours from your parent mini-site. This also creates the possibility in the future to link your club results to the fed results, etc.. If your the admin to a fed mini-site please ask all of your clubs who have a mini-site to set the fed in this way, if they havent already. I'm just on updating the front end index page to display the linked pages, so it will be ready when you update your details as above Oh yeah, I uploaded 3 new help pages within the mini-site system yesterday; so we're getting there Richard

Webmaster replied to Webmaster's topic in Notice Board
Looking good Bill Thanks for keeping us updated. -
Hi, 'PB' is the Pigeonbasics entry to the RPRA 1 Loft Race . I didnt get a photo of him before he went, but here is one of a brother to him. http://www.pigeonbasics.com/competitions/race/2005/images/birds/thumb/154.jpg He is darker, much like his sire (who also I dont have a photo of at the mo). Anyhow this topic is to track his progress :) Fingers Crossed 8) Richard

Thanks Jason, its great to hear that your using your Mini-Site to its full potential I had an email an hour or two ago about the 'Send results to press' a Scottish club had been included in the English results in the fancy press :-/ So I've made the update that County, and Country are now passed in the information sent to the papers. Of course this will only work if admin's have put county and country information in the relevant fields on the Mini-Site Details page. Richard

Hi! I've noticed that a few results have been posted on the forum after a weekends race, (no thats fine, this isnt a ticking off :) ). I just wanted to bring to everyones attention (those who dont already know ) that you can sign up for a club/fed/... mini-site here on the Pigeonbasics, where you get your very own pages to put up, results, news, photos, etc... It's all very easy to do; your given a username and a password after completeing the application at: http://www.pigeonbasics.com/clubs/newclub.php which will give you access to our mini-site admin system, which is just like logging into the forum here, but on there you have all the features listed to add news, results, photos..., and within a couple of clicks you can have your clubs own website up and running Nearly forgot to add, its free Richard P.S. If your on here on a Weekend and want to see the results as their coming in (infact all the latest action from all of the mini-sites) just visit http://www.pigeonbasics.com/clubs/statistics.php where you'll find a list of the last 20 results (by liberation date/time), a list of the latest news, and the most recently updated mini-sites. Infact I check back a few times over the course of the weekend, because results are added all through the day [A footnote to the stats page] I'm working on an update to this page to make it even better, wont spoil the surprise though

Its wayy past easter I know :-/ Pretty much all I can tell you is that there WILL be a competition on YBs again this year, however I cannot tell you whos birds it will be based on. Once something is sorted out I'll post it up to let everyone know. Richard

I was notified of a small bug with the race result yesterday. This consisted of if you entered a birdage as '2,123' (with a comma) all that would be saved to the system would be '2'. I've uploaded the fix for this so you will get an error message if you enter anything but a numeric character in either the birdage or members sent fields. As always if you have a problem, or think that the system is doing something wrong, let me know and I'll take a butchers Richard

Bills all Colour Race - Pigeonbasics Syndicate

Thanks to Chatrace, D Brooks, Hyacinth, MsPigeon, Slugmonkey. :D -
My original post was posted because I had a phonecall that things were 'slightly out of sorts' on here (while I'd been offline the week). I managed to get online and posted that (thinking the worst) without having time to read any of the posts or to see what was going on, which is maybe why it was a bit off the wall :B
-
I completely agree with every one of the posts here.
-
All of the upgrade work is now done. That is the Race Results and Send Result to the Press pages are now completed. So all should be ready for racing starting this weekend I'll now get to creating all the help pages and changes to the front end.

Hi, I've been offline all week, and cant be on long today. I have been notified of one or ten things happening this week on here while I've been offline. Its a great shame that I cant leave the site for a few days and everything to carry on as normal. I havent had a chance to read any of the topics yet, but will be skimming them in the next few mins, and I'll do what I have to do. I wish to apologise to our genuine members for being away, and what it has lead to. Richard Webmaster
