This is Luke, an 8 year old Springer Spaniel. My son got him as a baby and has been with the birds all his life. He is gun trained and has been used for beating on shoots. He is controlled by a whistle as are most gun dogs and has not been on a lead for about 6 years. As you will see in the two video clips, there it is total trust. He has never touched a bird or eggs and the photo shows him inspecting two newly hatched babies. The only problem is he can push the sliding doors open and enter each section but has not learned how to close them. We had a baby Pied Wagtail whom we rescued when it was one day old and unfortunately had a deformed foot. It walked about the house and Luke never touched it except to have a wee sniff. The photo was on one of his trips outside. Luke walking about and the birds not fussed Luke just sitting watching the birds and you will see him at the end

Thanks Guy's for all your kind greetings I am just recovering from a replacement hip but am sure I will be ready for training the birds on time Roll on racing hopefully I can get a full season in without all the pain I have had in the last 10yrs :emoticon-0136-giggle:
