Ets Systems-How Many Of Are Useing Them
ovy1255 replied to ovy1255's topic in Website News, Views & Computer Related Info
As the NEHU will not allow a computer to be connected to the system on basket night marking can you maybe explore putting a flat screen only onto the system as a lot of us pigeon men have bad eyes .We have spent hard earned cash on the system and a flat screen isnt that expensive, and this would improve your sales pitch and put you product ahead of other ets companies and allow all at basket night to see making and make marking more transparent. Hope you can answer this question -looking forward to seeing you all at the NEHU show and maybe an answer or a demo unit on show to give us all in the northeast first chance at a new upgrade . If you require a club to trial this for NEHU approval i would like to put my club forward for trial and will be willing to write reviews to the NEHU on a system test LETTER SENT TO UNIKON. -
1/what type are you useing 2/how would you like to improve your system 3/would you use a chip that was put under the birds skin[if possible] 4/would you like to see a GPS system incorperated [mobile phones do] 5/there are clubs out there that have spare clocks payed for by lottery funding just sitting in club H/Q cupbord batteries dieing by the season-if you where offered a clock on rental of 5th of the price of a 5year battery would you hire it.yes i know other things are to be considered but there are guys out there that could use these systems-maybe all systems should be kept at union H/Q that are not in use so they can be allocated and not left collecting dust.

the politics of a major organisation can be a minefield with fellow deligates being the bombs,i am lucky to be in the NEHU as all persons are accepted as members with only sensable rules to stop membership not how good they fly.so what would the nehu be like if we stopped our best flyers -we would have our second rate flyers in top place so is this how we should look at any results put up by any organisation that allows clubs to vet its members or potential members by performance.so who topped the combine by default? ONLY THE MEMBERS CAN BRING ABOUT CHANGE BY VOICEING THEIR VIEWS AND PUTTING PROPOSALS FORWARD FOR CHANGE.

i am sure all councils in england must bow to town/country planning of the government ,like we can have club rules as long as they dont contravene union rules was a case in homeing world where a guy was told to remove his lofts or council will at his cost----to cut long story shortsolicitor got him awarded damages plus his lofts stayed .plus one story of guy applying to allotment association to extend his lofts was told he had to reduce there size.homeing union got involved ,guy flew the channel so needed to quarentine birds undergovernment law -anyway was allowed his extension plus more.

Planning Permission Rules governing outbuildings apply to sheds, greenhouses and garages as well as other ancillary garden buildings such as swimming pools, ponds, sauna cabins, kennels, enclosures (including tennis courts) and many other kinds of structure for a purpose incidental to the enjoyment of the dwellinghouse. Other rules relate to the installation of a satellite dish, the erection of a new dwelling or the erection or provision of fuel storage tanks. Under new regulations that came into effect on 1 October 2008 outbuildings are considered to be permitted development, not needing planning permission, subject to the following limits and conditions: •No outbuilding on land forward of a wall forming the principal elevation. •Outbuildings and garages to be single storey with maximum eaves height of 2.5 metres and maximum overall height of four metres with a dual pitched roof or three metres for any other roof. •Maximum height of 2.5 metres in the case of a building, enclosure or container within two metres of a boundary of the curtilage of the dwellinghouse. •No verandas, balconies or raised platforms. •No more than half the area of land around the "original house"* would be covered by additions or other buildings. •In National Parks, the Broads, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and World Heritage Sites the maximum area to be covered by buildings, enclosures, containers and pools more than 20 metres from house to be limited to 10 square metres. •On designated land* buildings, enclosures, containers and pools at the side of properties will require planning permission. •Within the curtilage of listed buildings any outbuilding will require planning permission. *The term "original house" means the house as it was first built or as it stood on 1 July 1948 (if it was built before that date). Although you may not have built an extension to the house, a previous owner may have done so. *Designated land includes national parks and the Broads, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, conservation areas and World Heritage Sites. Please note: the permitted development allowances described here apply to houses not flats, maisonettes or other buildings. View guidance on flats and maisonettes here. Building Regulations If you want to put up small detached buildings such as a garden shed or summerhouse in your garden, building regulations will not normally apply if the floor area of the building is less than 15 square metres and contains NO sleeping accommodation. If the floor area of the building is between 15 square metres and 30 square metres, you will not normally be required to apply for building regulations approval providing that the building contains NO sleeping accommodation and is either at least one metre from any boundary or it is constructed of substantially non-combustible materials. ronnie i use bricon and the rest bar one uses unikon in my club .i can either use bricon master to put my birds on or the unikon master makes no difference.but if they want to use the bricon master they have to bring the loft unit to the basket hut and not just the memory unit.i assign all my members club rings to their ets rings, with both systems i use a pc to do this job but if you are not computer literate -with the bricon you can assign rings with your speedy clock like sending a text with your mobile.as for having problems on basket night i have rang mark palmer on basket night and he has answered and sorted my prob not like other ets hot lines on a friday night.cost of a race ready unit is approx half others .ask mark if there is going to be a demo in your area as he or an agent will have more time to show you about the system this goes for all the manufacturers as at b/pool its so busy.have a look at the different ets rings availablethe new bricon one slots straight into the belgian ring[and we i think will end up with this style of rings as the gb one proved sh-te. UNIKON HAVE ALREADY ASKED FOR A MAINTENANCE FEE FOR THE LOAN MASTER UNIT [NOT COMPULSARY YET] your main worry is if you dont have power 240 volts on a friday night as printers that run off a 12v inverter are poor to say the least and laser ones dont work on inverters. BEST THING YOU WILL BUY FOR YOUR Y/BIRDS ESPECIALLY. YOURS IN SPORT.

Computer Programmes For Lofts
ovy1255 replied to Walter swanston's topic in Lofts, Fixtures & Fittings
walter the more doos you add the better the system starts to work . -
was under the impresion that all these structures -temp was covered under new regs ,town/country planning set out by government which states that they con be attached to house must be inside your boundary by 1.5 meters at this point not to exceed 2meters in height but can be higher as you go onto your property .the proposed development including any other temp structures must not cover more than 50% of your garden.think this was for property you own .ask your homing union for help as if like ours agreements to keep pigeons was agreed -possible limitations on times you let your doos out ,only if the nosy c-w next door puts a letter into council.

was wondering if many of you guys are still letting out your birds for exercise. if you have problems with the BOP i can see why you leave them locked up or in a heavy moult. had my hens out for a bath today but all my 2010 youngsters are thrugh and the old ones not far behind.[youngsters where on the light this year] lot of the older guys keep their pigeons locked up all winter in my club, but have heard when they do get out they loss an odd hen for no apparent reason.

if your not happy with things in your organisation try to change them.and untill you put proposals forward to change rules and push them then you will have to work around the rules or start another organisation-it has been done befor.

as far as unikon payments are conserned they ask for a payment for a maintainance contract but hell if it goes tits up on basket night try getting in tough with ray knight -i did - but when i had a problem with bricon i phoned mark palmer and it was sorted in 3 mins. what we do need is a policy statement from ets manufactuers as to when our loan ringer or master unit is available to us and when it needs batteries or service or repair who will pay the bill. should we be purchasing ouy own unit?

my clubmates have bought unicon to match with the fed i think it was 530 each i have used bricon for a number of years and find it as good for less money-i basket with my bricon speedy clock with a connecting cable to the unikon ringer and find no problems at club or fed on fed centre marking.the bricon gets read off the same way-easy as that.
