  2. The perigrine nest at New Lanark only hatched 1 egg so they fostered another 3 young birds to the nest, this was published in the local paper last week. (so much for nature taking its course)

  7. SNRPC get the use of the federation crates the same as the SNFC. and are not charged for their use.
  8. When a pigeon is killed by hitting a window it is because it is trying to escape from a sparrowhawk and flies into the window thinking it is a open space and a route to cover and safety.
  9. Yes my lofts all floored with treated t&g chipboard top layer compressed and hard which makes it easy scraped, dont use sterling board, very difficult to scrape and wont be much cheaper than chipboard flooring.

Sorry Frank I have no fear of competing from the extreme distance but until it can attract a decent entry i am not interested.

I take nothing away from the pigeons timed from these races ,it takes a good pigeon to fly these distances and really good one to make the result, but there are better races in Scotland for a good pigeon

With respect idont think that was the reason for the poor entries as there were only a handfuul at Saintes every year

Like it has already been stated the SNFC was founded on long distance racing and high standards ,these are now being eroded with the introduction of inland racing and prizes being brought down from 1 in 15 to 1 in 10 what next 1in 5 ? we are heading for the Micky Mouse stuff, get back to 500 & 600 mile racing.

Agree 100% Andy, but i cant see the membership allowing us to drop both inland races, but it might be worth a go at the AGM.

Last season the Gold Cup race was followed by two channel races (Andrezel & Ypres) 7 days later, which can only have a big effect on the main race entries, surely it would make sense to drop one of the inland races, Newbury for instance and fly Ypres that week.
  23. Where did you escape from?
  24. Only failed to win a diploma once in the last 24 years.
