Don't listen to the jokers who say its to stop the dogs damaging their tales this is pure and simply lies. After docking dogs are still capable of feeling "phantom pains". No one would suggest a dog should have its leg cut off in case it damages it when out running!! I can assure you the number of dogs who injure their legs out running exceeds by a vast amount the number who hurt their tales. Statistically the most common reason for a dog receiving an injury to its tale is by getting it caught in a door being closed. Think about it! Well done the Scottish Parliament for legislating against those who can't be trusted to do the right thing.!
