was it a fly away steve? did you have any identification on your birds? if not it might be an idea to post the ring numbers in case any of the members get some in. It might not be all doom and gloom similar thing happened to "me" only last year had 2 out of around 35 or so and then just before it got dark about another 8 landed. The next day the weather was terrible dull dark and wet but in the afternoon quite a few battled back. Next day same thing by the end if the third day only a couple missing. Here is hoping a few make it back if they do it could be the making of them. Good luck!

I made EXACTLY this point on another thread a few weeks back. Everyone was falling over themselves to have a good arguement about lottery grants to buy ETS and made the point that getting 500 quid that is not even means tested to buy an ETS would come back to haunt us eventually, when the public suss out how much some people win and how much they pay for doos. Also made the point that what will beat this game is not people having to use an STB but guys especially older fanciers not being able to renew their loft and 500 quid would be far better spent on a new loft in my opinion. That old guy last night could certainly have used it.

The bottom line is the SHU is the laughing stock of the pigeon world. Its sad just so pathetecially sad to be a member of the SHU these days, but hopefully we can climb back to a place of reasonableness and dignity in the future.

Golden rule (or "text" as they used to say when I was at the sunday school) be very careful if birds are liberated in an east wind be especially careful with yearlings at the start of the season.THEY DON'T LIKE EAST WINDS!

well done to your club members and the lanarkshire lads Alf because from what i've heard most of the other feds at otterburn have a few of their birds missing, saying that the big convoy might have helped but who knows. Lets hope the east wind drops down a bit and a few more of the missing birds find their way home.
