  2. what area do you stay in ?
  3. i am hopefully getting a bird picked up from Newcastle either on Tuesday or Thursday. Give the fancier who reported mine a call( Craig 01914139854) and with a bit of luck he might be able to help Andy
  4. I think it is fair to say that the controller had only the birds welfare in mind hence the decision to let go on Friday at 1130, surely on the basis of this and the forthcoming weather it was his only option. I only have 1 out of 6 back so far but look at the returns over in the East P.Virtue 10 home on the night ?
  5. The Fancier with the highest velocity.
  6. Broken white cloud with sun breaking through now and again in Glasgow
  7. The Glasgow Fed is at Wetherby (approx 164 miles) i will be sending my team of 18 roundabout hens for their second race ( this is race 5 for the fed) The wind will probably be in the East which is not exactly in my favour but if the birds are Healthy/ fit and motivated then that is all that matters. Good luck for the weekend

sorry to hijack this thread but i was looking to see if any pigeonbasics members are likely to be in the Middlesborgh area some time this week as i have had a pigeon reported there who is flown down. I stay in Glasgow and was wondering if anyone would be passing this way? Glasgow Fed were at Catterick where i lost 7 yearlings hence the reason for adding to this post. Nb Happy to pay a conttribution for fuel costs

That,s not a big bad boy. You want to come up to Bonny Scotland to see some real bad boys
  17. Same in Muirhead 5 miles from Cumbernauld. Got chased by a penguin whilst going to the shops be careful out there
  18. Thunderbolt, i will watch the game with anticipation, come on the scots
  19. W.D they don,t have it easy either
  20. Thunderbolt, Scotland is always looking for quality players for the National Team and even at 38 i,m sure you still have a game left in your legs. I will pass your details on and if selected i will personally purchase thermals and a wooly hat for you. All the best from Bonny Scotland
  21. Thunderbolt, can you play football ( we might need you)
  22. Albear, i agree with your comments and if thunderbolt would like some more percy,s then i,m sure we wouldn,t miss a couple of 100. I personally usually only race to 370 miles therefore i take my hat off to all Fanciers from the U.K that time in routinely from the longer distances ( if only the birds could talk then we would find out which is the hardest route) Best of luck to all in the new Season & Hotrod can you do it again this year ?
  23. I think that all birds that fly in excess of 500 miles have a hard job and that for each part of the United Kingdom there are factors which influence the degree of dificuilty. For Instance Scottish fanciers face the water at the start of the race ( agreed) but they then need to negotiate terrain( its Hilly up in Scotland) they then face the gauntlet of Percy and his mates ( agreed) then they have to face the good old weather ( ever had a look at Scotland on a Postcard ?) its always Raining or its cold ( even the dogs and cats wear jumpers)

I totally agree that "asha,s" comments are binned however surely it would not be a problem for the webmaster to post a note to say " due to the content of this post it has been removed". That way genuine fanciers can see what is going on. Please note i appreciate why the post was removed but for the benefit of my fellow fanciers a few words from the webmaster would have gone a long way
