Having nothing what soever to do with any of this and as a complete outsider it seems to me some people are very quick with exscuses for Ben whoever he may be. Lol no computer then suddenly had access to his friends lost his dad(while sad if its true is no exscuse for theft or being an accesorie to the act) lol it wasnt me it was someone down the road just a mate .I would file a complaint and have them banned from ebay and if i had bought some i would also demand a refund. still none of my business and i am sure certain people will have a lot to say to me now lol.

no old hens is not a fed race apparently just for club honours. I know where ya coming from pete about early season but some of us have trained with the weather in mind there was 50quid prize in our club for first race so ive trained my birds when i wouldve of left them at home normally also cancelled a weekend away for it and to get told on thursday when ive paired some youngsters with birds i couldve sent Niort just really winds me up.
-
Just had a phone call to tell me this weeks first youngbird race has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. to say i'm a bit peeved is an understatement i know most will disagree with me but i believe the birds shouldve been sent and if bad either held over or brought back.(i thought it was just showers this weekend) I have a feeling there is more to this than just weather forcast maybe certain peoples birds were not ready. still ive said enough allready .

lol i had one from tarbes last year 700 miles also my niort cock is janssen based 500mile only bird on the night last year

if the said someone could do it time and again yes. But if he did it only once no. Also what if an eyesign man was invited into my loft to pair up for me and i had no decent birds would he tell me to cull them all or would he suggest the best pairing and say put them together thus letting me breed crap and discrediting himself and the theory. personally i believe there is something in it but its not the be all end all. lol would love someone to come and grade my birds and pair em for me cos i can never make my mind up

well put me down for alpha and beta testing if ya need:0 -
my first year cost me 200 for loft(got cheap chipboards and built my own) not sure on club fee's but say 150 quid i only have small team of birds so after the first year fee's went down that includes club fed and paying for racing. 150 quid for corn over the year again small team i used club clock till i bought my own for 130 quid from ebay. that was three year ago its about the same now but i race old birds and young birds so about 500 a year give or take a few quid . If your in it to make money forget it find another hobby some people do make money from the birds but not many. birds origianally came from friends and family and 10 from louella.

I got a black pied back today from fourgeres he has been out 3 weeks still has his race rubbers and is really flown out in a bad condition. Just posted this so you dont lose heart .

I was thinking of sending my best cock he took another 1st club 4th fed 3 weeks ago from fourgeres but i paired him this week for niort next week(he allways comes good chasing for egg's) after looking at his flights ive decided not to send him niort and keep him for saintes.but was gonna leave him paired so he will be sitting egg's just about to chipout. ive never raced birds on eggs before and wanted to know if they come well.i suppose its down to each bird

Bob still train ya birds with a mind to race them while you make ya mind up mate. Try a few of the things people have suggested training after 10am was a big help for me.Ive lost one bird from that last bad toss and thankfully none are hurt just a few are flown out makes me think it wasnt a BOP just a another batch took them.
-
What in peoples opinion is the best way to send natural cocks on the water race's. also would you send a cock that has done a full wing moult. just thinking about send a few cocks to saintes with national in a few weeks and wanted peoples view's the cocks have been on widowhood all year and are paired now .
-
great pics fred what camera you using and do you use a box? i think Puresoontjen was hinting he wants it
-
Bob i had same thing happen to me thursday mate 30 mile toss 6 hours before the first bird. got 13 back on the night and 7 the next day i only lost four in the end and no casulties so i cant even say if it was a bop. Anyway after nearly being wiped out last year i changed my training times i now train the young birds at 10am the thinking behind this was that the BOP will hopefully have all fed.apart from last thursday ive not had any real bad mishaps .hope you can grit ya teeth and get back into the birds and maybe this will work for you . all the best mate Ronnie

would love to see this up and running would be excellent to get it online and have interactive feds agains each other you could set birds up with feed nest condition and chance variables like BOP and wind conditions the options are endless you could even impliment a breeding system. -
what in peoples opinion is the better a widowhood cock or a cock chasing his hen for egg's Just curious as lots of people are sending widowhood cocks that have been paired and chasing for egg's or is it a case of different birds suit different methods?
-
its not a case of defects .You line breed to try and compound the genes you want in a bird a cock will pass most of his genes to a hen offspring where as a hen will pass most of hers to a cock offspring.so when you put father to daughter you have chance of getting moreof the genes you was after from said parent you could then compound this even more by going grandfather to grandaughter and so on.If you take this approach to breading you have to be very strict on your selection process. Not sure if this helps but its the way i was told.
-
keep them line bred for stock and croos them for racing is what i was told.

And is it true that all scotsmen are Tight fisted with ginger hair?Lol name and shame them and dont tar us all with the same brush
