  5. First race here, to early for me, in two minds whether to send, if i do it will just some old timers 2 year olds,
  6. In My opinion, when my widowhood cocks have flown for an hour consistently around the loft, the pigeons have always een crap racing, however when my widowers fly for 10mins land, then after 60 seconds clap of again, and are like fireworks for these 10-15 minute marks land then off again thats when in my opinion widowers are right, they must however explode with vigour none of this gliding around, they must e all over the sky and plenty of space etween them. However widowhood hens in form are a different thing, will fly non stop for hours, and the closer the knit of pigeons in the sky the etter. However like mick says in my opinion i dont like to see widowhood cocks fly for an hour consistently this is when i know there no where near right
  7. very sad thing to see happening yet again so often in the fancy. I do not know the partnership personally, however i know of the name very well. Consequently could something run on the site to try and help these great fanciers, who i know donate alot of young across the nation?
  8. Old yellow out of interest could you pm me the address of the vet as well as how much he charges and how long he takes to get results out as i like to test mine prior to racing thanks
  9. myself i use either fresly squeezed lemon, cider vinegar, or carrot juice
  10. brewers yeast one of the top products on the market, full of influential vitamins, you can purchase it at the chemist or pigeon stores as well as if your lucky a local brewer. I use it old and young, always on the return from a race
  11. it should have read im not spencer to answer this, as the question the gentleman asked was directed to you, however i gave my view
  12. not spencer to answer this, however in my view i only do this when there good speciemins oth carrying the same traits i hope to produce in there offspring, as with such a close mating the good points and terrile points can e heigtened, hence only chosing the mating of those with the good traits which i wish to ring out in the ofspring
  13. hi thunder, its a good point that you are making, however, there are still fanciers i know of the old skool that still feed a full pea and bean mixture, are there losses the same as yester year, unfortuantly not the losses have increased. However would e interesting to find out other peoples findings and feeding methods, regarding losses
  14. In reality you need to think of what homing is, is homing racing, no. The old english type pigeon no matter where you sent it you would always get them home, people would reed youngsters of 20 and end the season of 20, the english type pigeon was typical homers and had strong homing aility. However the foreign strains, would often lose themselves and were never to seen again however there speed was more heightened, ut reeding 20 youngsters from the foriegn strain and keeping 20 was very few and far etween, as the skill of finding there way home in my view has decreased. Consequently look at the velocitites over the years, as well as the losses

one of the greatest racing men in London at one time was billy lynch, he didnt race his young one year ut trained the granny out of them 100 miles regular, the follwoing year he put the pigeons into the races as yearling he was untouchale
  19. hi andre, we always train our pigeons in a straight line through every race point on a map, and its the line i want my pigeons to follow, which in my loft is directly north,
  20. tony we do something simiular but for the first 3 days our ybs recieve only big beans, tic beans and peas mix, the next 3 days they recieve only cribs maize, so that the young birds are used to taking the big grains, after that straight on the yb mix
