i think youd have to come to some arrangement, as if im not wrong horsemans are there to trap and attract other pigeons to there loft and that is there side to the sport to see how many hens they can bring home

In my opinion, they need a few races even if its only upto 100 miles, for the experience of being on the lorry and breaking from pigeons. I did however have times when i done what you done and found as old birds there performances was terrible and the losses was high. They only started to come into condition when i did do this, very late in the old bird season usually the last 3 races of the year, it took them along time to get to grips with it, myself these days race my young birds right through the programme, as i believe they need that experience. However you will get different answers from different fanciers

if there heavy in the moult id leave em mate, if they are on the darkness put em across

Best dogs you can have especially with kids, they defiantly call them nanny dogs for a reason, as they are very protective of there family, you couldnt ask for a better dog with kids in my opinion, heres a photo of my boy and my dog sophie, she is always by his side!

Have to agree theres no ventilation in the loft, and defiantly need some ventilation system added to the loft, The birds do not need heating, it isnt neccessary, however using it on a thermostat to create a constant temopreture, only in the racing season has its benefits, especially as the racing season seems to start earlier and earlier every year,

Got alot to do over the winter, Most importantly get my birds through a good moult. Then i need to build basically a new widowhood shed, by changing the pent roof to an apex, and ripping out the whole of the front of the exsisting widowhood shed, and using polycarbonate sheets in places to attract the sun, and to keep the heat in the shed, as my widowhood loft isnt ideally placed in my garden and doesnt recieve the early morning sunshine. Then ive got to possibly think up plans of insulation in the loft to try and keep the heat in but to keep a constant tempreture of an evening, and is something i will ponder apon over winter months. Also i have this loft organiser that i need to get to grips with and will be attempting to put all my birds and pedigrees of the birds on it. Then also have to ponder apon this seasons pairings, and work out the date i want to pair. Then before we know it blackpool would have come and gone, were id buy in the essentials and meet up with some old friends and hopefully meet some of new. Then it will be more then likely putting my stock pairs together. Then we'd be back to racing lol 30 weeks till racing starts again, you can forget christmas ;D ;D ;D

dont know what the wind is like where you are strapper, but in london blowing strong easterly wind, and raining down hope they work there way back up

you would stop the moult as the birds would think its summer, also the lighter the mixture including barley, and lots of small seeds the more feathers they appear to chuck out, seems to do the trick, but must point out i do put Perform powder and Perform oils on the grains at least 3 times a week. The birds are also offered freedom on an everyday basis up untill middle of November, and they choose what they exactly want to do, mainly just walk about and have a bath, but for that period of time during the moult im happy with that, and it wont be untill february when i will require them to start to exercise. And if i have time i sometimes use Caynene Pepper in the water, which heats the blood. An old game keeper told me once you want your birds to moult, take there water away from them for 24 hours, however i have never tried it

if you get good enough pigeons they will win in any wind, one of the best pigeon sprint men i know is Micky Connolly and son of Canning town, and they are one of the most westerly lofts and still get pigeons to top the federation in a west wind. Good fit and healthy birds, and pigeons with the leaders you wont go wrong, no matter where you live you still need the pigeon up the front.
