  1. Graham, if there not intended to RACE cut the food back even further u will soon find a measure were they will show no interest
  2. Sounds a brillant idea and can add to motivation cock wise
  3. access to the floor is one of the main factors where your hens will always pair up, a better idea is to create a wire mesh folding frame, that will start from the bottom of your saddle perches, and have your drinker on a shelf where only one bird at a time can sit,
  4. its all down to the feeding really, but if your racing the hens its all about the loft, stick a photo up of your hens section might be able to help a bit more
  5. Geoff Copper used it so his hens couldnt hear the cocks and vise versa, noise wouldnt distract pigeons pairing up, i know a guy who had trains running every 5 mins right past his loft, and another guy who also used to have a radio in his loft playing 24 hours as his neighbours used to blast music out all night so they got used to the noise, after a while pigeons get used to things and wont stop nature.
  6. the radios in my experiance where only used to stop the hens hearing the cocks?
  7. Anyone know of Russell Hayes's Van Loons, believed to come from lincolnshire way?
  8. i recommend the dry after the race, however Zell Oxygen by herbots is a great product for a end of week towards basketing product
  9. normally see this with fanciers who try chasing there young birds and forcing them to fly in the past.
  10. you can buy brewers yeast in your local chemist or at any corn merchant
  11. Can kings rear racing pigeon young birds?
  12. Ian i would take a pop that its got to be a bird from London area lost at thurso
  13. lead to believe a concrete floor holds the damp, but dont quote me though
  14. myself i squeeze about 2 fresh lemons, and add as much brewers yeast till the consistancy of how mum makes gravey, pour it all over the corn and use my hands to mix it completely in to the grain, then ontop of the boiler to dry out, it would turn into a rock solid form, which you then brake up and feed to the birds
  15. Graham, if no luck let me know and well see if we can get another way round it
  16. an ounce is roughly 28.5 gramms, get yourself an electric scale, and cut it down so each pigeon gets 25 gramms which is still adequete enough, and see how you get on.
  17. How good is this you see it advertised everyday on ebay, ive never been one to buy a system always been a man of do your own thing, But have any of the memebers followed his systems and how did there results vary from before to after ect, just think it would be interesting to see peoples views, i should state i have never seen or read the system so i cannot give my own opinion.
  18. never basket train my young birds, pigeons i feel can smell water, they know where it is.
  19. Myself personally like to use cod liver oil, in liquid form alittle over the corn and dry it off with a multivitamin powder, just on a wednesday once a week
  20. I think you got to look at what were your goals at the beginning of the old bird season, my goals were to score well in all 3 LNRC races as old birds, I achieved it in 2 out of the 3 so feel it was quiet successful

Hi Bakes, Sounds a bit contradictive, why would you feed them before basketing, if you wanted them to trap quickly on return, unless they had a night in the basket? Or they were let out early morning and trained late evening? Cheers Ryan

clive in my opinion id only let them out if u started tossing say at 2miles and 5 miles as some do. However with a first toss i always toss them so they know dinner is due, but generally i start mine at 25 miles
  23. also depends on how much your feeding them how lets say frisky they are, even if there on barley they will pair depends on how much you are giving them
  24. To which you are correct but then i also asked what was the mans results with the birds?
  25. Jack Adams Racing Legend was a believe in Caynee Pepper
