  5. What strain are they? Pigeons will fly any distance.......some faster than others
  6. Aye....and we have had this conversation before.......a distance team can show nothing in two years. I keep my elders together but constantly cross between the three families i keep for sprint/middle. I am currently crossing my kirkpatricks as they have fallen back and think some new blood might pep up their performances......I have ended up with the majority of the distance team being thru the same lines.
  7. Well done Wattie
  8. Sad indeed
  9. Why
  10. Would be great till somebody got upset cos others further south wee having it to easy lol

  14. Any chance of a boy? ? Well done..... the more responsibility I got the better the birds raced??, think on Well done to you bith
  15. You stand correct??? No for me ye dinny. Absolutely crazy too be letting yer birds our in FOG!!!! Then tell me ye keep them in oor of the rain for AN EDGE on race day? These warriors of the sky that fly thru anything and make it home regardless of the MINDLESSNESS of the owner are a recipe for disaster for any new fancier taking up the hobby as a newbie.....its alright for walter boswell training latebreds in all weather but for me .......I dinny let them oot in...heavy rain.....high winds (dusnae need to be a gale) *expletive removed* FOG (jess Christmas that's just mental)..... guess I am a diffo old school from you Roly but it's crazy..... these guys should be low after their birds with the minimum of risk not the max
  16. Very smart

    Disaster

    Fog off ye nutter lol
  18. Who knows. Kept in and got out or been farming and run oot of grub.....get it out of yer birds quick smart for at least a week
  19. Probably gan tae get rubbished for this next statement but fook it here it is lol... The miles thing is a lot of nonsense. ...say I fly 400 miles against other fanciers in my sect..we all keep birds to do this distance and condition them for that race distance as well as train them....we have 30 sect prizes up for grabs but mine cones 31 and therefore not eligible for a sect prize. Elsewhere a sect race 500 miles.....again the fanciers in that area keep, conditions and train there birds for the specific task....they have ten prizes but somebody comes eleventh......their bird does qualify???? Is it better than the shorter fancier? What was the wind like? How long did it take to fill the sect prizes??? This is why, in my opinion, the distance can have no bearing in this situation. It would purely be a matter of opinion. ....which it seems to have turned out.
  20. So the race where it didn't get a prize counted to miles flown?? But an open prize without sect stands for nowt?? Canny be right can it?
  21. Well done Wattie......there will be a path beaten to your door wae local fliers needing the same lol
  22. We were small team fanciers ending 10 every week.......you got your turn but its very hard to sustain channel racing these days on a small team so you have to adjust or accept that you will need a bit of luck to get yer choosen one at the gold cup etc............people were clocking more pigeons at the shorter channel races than i had in the loft???? They must have set them up well??
  23. Never had as many 46 racers 30 stock
  24. I dinny want to cos you any grief but what are the proper channels? Is there a precident for this?
