Last year I took a four yr old hen ( never been out for three years) from the stock loft. Lovely hen in the hand but sadly never bred anything. Stuck her in a basket and she went out to 250 after 3 20 mile trainers. Planning on winning the gold cup with her this year.!!! Never trained as a young bird
None this year but last year I had two.....one was disposed of the other spent the winter shut in and raced out to 380miles without making a mistake but failed to return from its last outing
Hi mate Mine are fat coming up to pairing as they have been doing nowt but eat. You can tell when they are over weight when the keel bone is not prominent on your fingertips when holding the bird. They will also feel heavy. Its not a problem because when you pair them the weight will come off due to the cock driving and other things on their minds. Feed at the moment is just a winter mix but that will change to breed and wean when the young hatch. Best of luck
Ye am voting ye for everything, ye for Reims ( for concistancy of racepoint )ye for phone ins cos it keeps everybody entertaint so they can see how the race unfolds(even if no at the race or wanting to be depressed at not timing).......its mental.
