Yes Tony, I heard you had a bad race. I had 2 from 4 for clocks and a 3rd one when I arrived home. An NRCC bird had came in with my 3rd one. When I made contact with the fella he said it was a stiff one. I believe your birds go out to sea when flying south, so perhaps they hit some haar. Our birds fly inland, so maybe that's why we had a better race. Hope you get the rest, if you are still waiting for some.

Has he contacted you yet? I spoke to him this morning.
-
PM your number and I'll forward it to him and let him know you want to talk. I don't give out numbers.

Well done. The Ayrshire bird will give a massive lift to all Ayrshire fanciers after a terrible start to their season.

I single tossed YB's before and found it to be ok. I was told it may be better double tossing them since in two's or even three's, they would race each other. Some I know have said they no longer bother with single ups. Best to experiment yourself. Single up some of them and batch the others. If it is the Nationals you are after, I have heard it said not to club race them. Single ups as yearlings, OB's; small batches as YB's. YB's trained out to 20 miles daily and occasionally out to around 150 max, but 50 would be ok. Yearlings 20 miles daily single up and occasionally out to at least 150 single up. As 2 YO's train less, they will reject the daily tosses, but give them 3 dailies at about 50 miles as well as the occasional longer one out to 250 miles, all single up then jump them into their first race ever. Takes quite a while to find out if they can do it that way and the training is expensive and time consuming. Guess that is why us mere mortals go the club racing route.

Help Needed With Bird With Non Fancier Near Hamden Park

Well done!! I was going to get it, but when I phoned him he said you had already contacted him. -
Anyone help with contact details. Wing stamp ink ran all over the place.

2nd not long in. 50% returns so far.

Probably tied in with NRCC birds flew too far south before breaking. Prep race for Lerwick which is a joint lib, so they often fly 600+ miles instead of the stated 340 odds.

1st bird back at 17.56 doing around 697ypm.

I am the shortest Fed loft at 165 miles, but this is an Open race and there are lofts just over 150 miles entered. Any early birds?
-
Thanks, that's a relief.

sh1t Walter!!! Why did they let ours go 30 minutes later. Our convoy of 65 will be swallowed up when theirs decide to go. Keep us informed when they do finally clear.
-
Very sticky race for me Walter. Gappy returns, but Montrose seems to be a "bogey" race for me. Overall good returns. I had 10 / 13 on the day and another 2 this morning, so just waiting on the 1. Our other race from Fraserburgh has been liberated at 11.00. and that is our final prep for Lerwick in 2 weeks time. Hope I get my 4 back to be able to enter them in the longest and biggest race for me, so far. 2 this morning, still waiting on 1 that has been flying well and was carrying pools. Maybe too heavy for him.

Valley Open Fraserburgh liberated at 11.00. into a light NE wind. Best of luck to everyone. Safe returns.

Well done Rab.

Help Needed With Bird With Non Fancier Near Hamden Park

I could pick it up on Monday evening. I am up in Glasgow that day. I won't have a lot of time because I am on a tight schedule, so it would have to be a fast exchange. I would be in the Hampden area around 17.15 - 17. 30. -
Sticky race for me today from Montrose. 7 from 13 at the moment. This seems to be my bogey area.

Valley North Fraserburgh Open race held-over due to rain and low cloud / poor visibility.
