  5. 3 Stranraer North Members sent 102 pigeons, 9 Carrick sent 131, 7 Cumnock sent 115, 4 Mauchline sent 80 and 9 Valley sent 251. Total 32 sent 679 Federation pigeons. Best of luck everyone. First YB Race to Stirling.
  6. Ayrshire North Road Federation prints two sheets. One goes to the fancier and the other goes to the Club. The Club sheet must be signed by the fancier and the Club System operator. At Valley Club, the sheets go to the Secretary and he allows the fancier to mark any pooled pigeons and then he also signs the sheet. These sheets are then sealed into a metal container and held by any fancier. The fancier holding the box has his sheets retained by the Secretary. At "ring off" a similar procedure is followed, fancier and system operator signing the sheet, the Secretary signing later when he receives it and makes up the result. The manual clocks are set as normal with entry sheets filled by the member. They are also sealed in the same metal box. The box seal number is recorded and checked to ensure there has been no tampering. I think this covers the full procedure.

  9. I don't know how to cheat and I have no interest in finding out. When someone cheats they are only cheating themselves, giving themselves a false position. When it comes down to it, certainly in cases like this, they are not just cheats, they are worse, they are thieves. They are stealing not just the money, much worse, they are stealing the aspirations of others. "Sorry", does not cut it!

  15. I think nowadays you have to consider what type of race they have had and this has to be done from race to race. If they take a blootering one week, chances are you'll lose them the next. Fear of BOP, etc might just make them decide not to bother. I have read it often, observation is key. I don't race mine at all to keep them free from the stress at this time of year. I also don't push them hard as 1YO, but expect them to race the programme final race the following season. I am not racing any great distance, racing North, but that is because I am of a careful deliberate nature and I will take my time before I decide to race distance on the South.
