    This ties in with the advice from Walter Boswell that all the pigeons should be done at the one time. When the YB's are vaccinated he noticed a drop in form in the OB's and he put it down to fighting off the shed virus. I believe he now vaccinates all pigeons at the same time. I am sure Walter could clarify his findings in a far better way than I have done.

    I always follow the guidelines on the bottle or the advice of the vet after sending in for test results. I expect I would become a bit perturbed if asked to vaccinate the amount of times mentioned earlier in the thread. I would then be asking the same questions. Does the vaccine do any good whatsoever if we are being told to use it as often as this? Does the test centre know what they are doing when they tell me to use the vaccine as often as this or are they just clutching at straws?

    Colombovac is a water based vaccine. Nobivac is an oil based vaccine. They are both used in the same manner by vaccinating under the skin, but whilst care must be taken with both, the oil based carrier in Nobivac can cause more serious problems if accidently vaccinating yourself. Nobivac is a thicker liquid than Colombovac and as such can be a little more difficult to use, but seemingly better results are achieved with Nobivac. I think this comes down to fancier preference although I do use Nobivac myself.
